I have to admit it annoys me, too. You're both expecting a baby, ou're both going to have a child/baby, but only one of you is actually pregnant.

The idea that you 'fall' pregnant is also a bit irritating. Makes it sound like an unfotunate tripping accident!

Another phrase which annoys me is "hence why". If you use 'hence' you don't need to add 'why'. Hence means 'as a consequence' or 'for this reason' or 'this is why', so adding an extra 'why' is redundant.

And anything which starts "I'm not ________ but..."

    I hate 'we're pregnant' too!

No! SHE is pregnant, HE is not.

Also hate' she fell pregnant,' and the one I loathe' how far gone are you?' And don't even get me started on 'she got knocked up.'

    So many annoying sayings!

I was agreeing with you, just giving an example of how restarting a computer solves a problem which I'm always getting.

It was unusual that it took more than one restart this time but I wasn't trying to invalidate what you had said.

Must say, 9 times out of 10, 'switching it on and off again' will cure most problems with computers. As someone said earlier, (Torry I think,) it works for other things too. Like mobile phones, MP3 players, satellite tv and so on...

Very few words or phrases annoy me. I don't like it though when people use the word weary instead of wary.

Also I dislike the word "partner". To me it sounds as if you have a business together
    .

Me too. Wife or husband sound better. :)
    You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:

I hate it when someone says you have another thing coming. It should be another think coming

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Same here. In fact, any verb being misused as a noun grates.

    Risk it for a biscuit.
    Middle for diddle.
    Ready as I'll ever be.
    No pressure then.
    Up until.
    Must-have (as a noun).
For free. I think this is embedded in the language now so I'm stuck with it, but it used to be either "free", or "for nothing".
    Crimbo.
    Bestie.

It seems I let a lot of things irritate me!

I never realised it was think! I've never heard people say anything other than thing.

It's easy to mishear that though and it's not a grammatically correct sentence when you say think, whereas it does make sense saying thing.

I'd guess a lot of people haven't a clue it was originally think not thing and there's no reason for people to doubt the saying as it makes sense.

I wonder if the people who say 'Crimbo' also use the term 'holibobs'?

Where did this silly word come from?
    What's wrong with saying 'holidays'?

'Let me sharpen my pencil' 1980s called, they want their sales manager back.
Bae, as others have said. I really have issues with moist and flump as in marshmallow blurgh!
I really hate to cut a long story short, as generally it never is!
Don't agree with the "we're pregnant" one. They together are having a baby, together they will be parents. Together they are pregnant.
