But the cheque deposit shows as the same. The OP won't know if it's a BT cash bank to bank or a BT deposit cheque unless they check.
Hence my post.0 -
But once the transfer shows. ..ie immediately via faster transfer. ..I can call my bank to check.
I've suggested 50, 50 so let's see what happens.0 -
They are keen to collect today. I have request a full bank transfer. I have confirmed with my bank that transfers can't be reversed and only disputed if they have credit protection thing in which case I can dispute it ether way and they take legal action.
So let's see how it plays out with 800 quid..0 -
You wouldn't be stupid enough though for them to show you their mobile phone and say "oh look there it goes, the money's been transferred!"??? :OWarning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Course not you idiot. They've would be transferring several hours before and I'd be calling the bank before the goods are released. Been ebay and pay pal longer than you ie 14 years just not been in this situation.0 -
It's just that you could be a vulnerable person for all I know.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0

You cannot leave buyers negative feedback and it may not be the persons account that your speaking to.
Still not convinced on the transfers not being reversible, too open to abuse?
If someone decided to spend all my money via bank transfers whilst i was on holiday who loses the money? Me the innocent victim? you the innocent seller or the bank?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If you send money to someone and then go on holiday then surely you wouldn't be surprised to find that you couldn't get it back? bank transfers are sent, people can't steal your money unless they have all your online or telephone banking security and then access your account to send themselves money.
The only thing I would be cautious about is allowing item to go same day. In very extraordinary circumstances if transaction isn't fully live it can be recalled, that cannot happen though once the end of the banking day has passed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well last minute she was worried about the transfer and again suggested cash. I told her the transfer was only option.
Transfer has been made (bank credit). Shows on my online banking and I called the bank to check and it has cleared.
I've requested abs received her full name and address. Obviously I have her photo and number and PayPal ID
I'VE produced an invoice detailing everything and I and her partner will both sign when he arrives in a few minutes.
The bank have said if a reversal were to be made I can dispute if I have evidence which I have and it's only when they might argue that they paid into the wrong account.
I think I've done what I can.0 -
