Clydesdale/Yorkshire bank switch incentive - offer ending 31 March version

One of the conditions for the bonus is
"Pay in at least £1000 in the 31 days after your switch completes and another £1000 in the 31 days after this and keep 2 Direct Debits for this period. These payments can’t include internal transfers from any other account you hold, or jointly hold with someone else, with Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank."
Am I correct in understanding that if I wanted to deposit £ 1000 within the first 31 days after the switch then it cannot be from another bank account in my name (please see bold section of criteria) or am I reading this wrong ?No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -

It cannot be from a bank account in your name that you hold with Clydesdale / Yorkshire. It can be a bank account in your name with another bank.0 -
i was looking at switching as well. for direct debit is is possible just to set up something that goes to another person's bank account like paying rent, or does that not work?0

Any DD - but are you sure your landlord takes direct debits? You might be confusing with standing orders.0 -
I've just switched a donor account to the Clydesdale one, to benefit from the switching bonus. I tried to apply online as it was a straightforward application and I didn't want an overdraft facility, but I still had some trouble submitting the request and ended up having to do it over the phone. They were very helpful, however they did ask a number of additional questions such as 'when did you last open a bank current account' and 'when did you last apply for a credit card' and 'when did you last apply for a bank loan and how much is outstanding on it' which weren't questions on the online questionnaire. I got the impression they were looking at my record and already knew the answers to these questions, and just needed me to confirm the dates.
It only took ten minutes to open the account (most of which was the chap reading the endless T&Cs to me) and set up the switch so it was very easy, however I thought if others were thinking of applying by phone they may wish to know this.0 -
They will have been proving your identity by checking your answers against your credit record. I have had to do that before for "security reasons".0

I applied for the account last week and just now did the switch request, but because of Easter weekend, the day the switch will complete is now 1st April (7 working days).
The T&Cs state "This offer ends on 31/03/2016" - does that mean I will miss out on the bonus? It does not specifically say the switch needs to be completed by 31/03...0 -

only say you need pay in £1000 twice. Nothing about maintaining the balance, so yes you can pay in £1000, remove it, then pay the same £1000 in again. Be careful about the dates at which you do this though (see my previous post)
Yes - no need to keep the £1k in the account.
It's a current account - not a savings account - you are meant to move money in and out regularly.0 -
I called them up to do the switch last week, and asked for it to complete on the 1st April. It's now within 7 business days of that date, and I've not heard anything from either bank (I'm switching from Barclays to YB). Other switches I've done in the past politely let me know via text when it's starting (Both Natwest and Halifax did this).
What's the process of switching with CB/YB? Is the phone call to switch sufficient, or do they require something done via the post as well? If it's the latter, I'm a tad concerned, as post might miss the 31st deadline.
Kinda wish it was as easy as the likes of Halifax, all online and automated.0 -
Yorkshire bank very confusing.
1.is 31 days counted from day you call them to switch or from the day switch completed or you made first payment?
2.first £1000 pay tomorrow 24/03/2016 so second payment must be 24/04/2016 ?
my switch completed today so can i make fist payment today?0
