Curve Card

Curve are rejecting many 'cash' transactions, they've certainly tightened up, but worth a shot. If not bonds, I'm sure a number of gambling, investment and stock broker type sites let you use Curve.
Was thinking more along the lines of a mule for stoozing0 -
Ah good plan! I've done similar with investments on 0% card, that's how I know they've definitely tightened up (ones that used to work now don't when I tried last week).
Ultimately for websites which can be used for both commercial and financial/personal use the decision is down to the retailer whether they accept the BIN on the cards - but ones which Curve deem to be risky (aka people taking the Michael....) they block and decline the transacions, even if the retailer would accept it.0 -
I've got one of these now. But I can't see what advantages is gives me over other some of my other cards.0

Has anyone been asked to provide ID for the Curve card?0

They will be launching a reward scheme at some point. I think the value of the points will be similar to the likes of QuidCo On-Card or whatever it's called - potentially 5% at (expensive) places like boots, possibly 1-3% elsewhere.
I don't believe it'll be flat rate everywhere as that's open for abuse then.
That said - Curve have paid out the £50 rewards to everyone with the black card now, and referral bonuses, so the card is more or less free even for those that paid top whack originally (based on Amex functionality).
I think it's a great concept in principle, but I do think there should be flatrate cashback - for those that can't get cashback credit cards, and Curve also arbitrage all transactions anyway - by offering cashback to all, they'd please those that can't get good cashback credit cards (I've got a massive 0.5%) and increase transaction volumes which ultimately will increase profits.
Ultimate benefit for me is using my credit cards where it wouldn't be accepted (some places see Curve as Mastercard Debit and/or Mastercard Prepaid), especially the cashback one (although I earn peanuts due to the awful rate). If someone had a more attractive rate on the underlying cashback card, Curve could be very profitable.
Also cash withdrawals from Credit Cards - potentially free (or paid for, on a cashback card!) - where it's normally be 3% or whatever.
FOREX fee is 1% - competitive for those that can't get a decent credit/debit card and have a debit card from hell (e.g. RBS group). Until recently, when I got accepted for a 0% credit card, I made extensive use of Curve's 1% conversions rather than paypal's rip off rate, or paying £££ to my bank!0 -

Supercard is Forex free so why pay 1% when you can pay 0%?
Also, if you needed a chargeback then Curve (or Supercard) would need to perform this not the credit/debit card issuer. Something to consider with a high value item...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Lack of S75 is a worrying issue, which is how the whole Amex saga got going (well, officially....).
That being said, I've never had any problems with Curve, or their support when I've needed to contact them. I wouldn't use it to buy a car, holiday etc - but it's perfect for smaller value items which wouldn't qualify for S75 (including, sometimes (!), flights)0
