  • It's horses for course really. What one child thinks is tricky is another's forte.
I'm just counting down the days until it's over!

  • Think it's going to be hard to focus DD this week - she's just so excited for Saturday to be the end of it all. Awful process really, just wish they could monitor them for P6/P7 to determine if they meet specific criteria for a grammar school. After all their work it is all down to 3 hours on 3 specific Saturdays.... I know it is what it is and I have found it stressful - thankfully DD hasn't let it overly phase her so thank goodness for small mercies. Good luck to everyone for the final one x
  • I agree completely Bambi, a really rotten and unnecessary system of tests when there is enough correlated information about each child already gathered by their own primary schools!

    5 days and it's over!!!
  • Roll on Saturday 11.00
my daughter done her last paper in school today and is winding down, although I told her the last test is just as important as the first, so no celebrating until Saturday as I don't want her to rush the last paper just to get finished.
  • My daughter did her last practice paper in school today and got 92% her highest mark! This is exactly what she needed to boast her confidence as her average is normally mid 70s%. Roll on Saturday 11am! then the dreaded waiting game on results start!
  • Oh heck, son did last practise test today and got 84% but class average was 90% and he was upset as he knew his was a good score but 'not good enough' :(
Only 1 question wrong on maths and silly points lost on not using a capital letter for one of the English questions. There's nothing more I feel I can do now, I can't make him write more neatly - he said it was a capital but just didn't look like one lol.

We have last practice paper tomorrow. 98% on the Monday one.. So perked up a bit here.
I dread the wait for results. Our postman is never here until noon. I think some people in the past got their post left in sorting office and picked it up about 8am but not sure.
  • People have done that May100 but I didn't bother when my daughter did it as we had a lovely postwoman who dropped the results off at the start of her rounds but it will be midday for us as well now.

Last year a few parents did not get their letters due to postal problems. Phoned the school but no answer. Then tried AQE office - they needed their candidate no and had dumped the exam card. So best to keep the exam no until process ends. They had to wait until the Monday to get it from the school!
I am stressing here - DS isn't well - chesty cough and high temperature. Fingers crossed he'll be able to do Sat. paper. He didn't think Paper 1 went well so he really wants a go at paper 3.
