  • Thanks May100, think you are right. The more able children tend to be harder on themselves. Spoke to dd this morning and she's seems a bit better about things. Think it was nearly a years worth of emotions spilling out once it was over!
  • Hi 2121mumof2

I could have written your post and that of May100! My son has consistently scored highly and he finished off the week in school scoring 90s in both papers. One of which was a 2015 paper. My son was shell shocked yesterday too and said how hard the English was. All the children did that my son spoke to, even the girls whose English is their strong point. That and this thread have helped to calm me down a bit. Thank goodness they have 2 papers left and hopefully will have less nerves next time!
  • Hi mumof3boysni

Definitely feel better after reading your post and that of May100. If our kids found it hard then I'm sure the rest did too despite what they say. Will be interesting to see how the next one goes!

It's over - why quiz the kids what they got right or wrong?
We are just going to get back to routine tomorrow - 2 tests a week and school homework and lots of encouragement and time to relax too.

Good luck to all the children sitting the GL tomorrow :-)
  • Yes, good luck GL peeps. We are spending the morning cleaning out certain people's hellhole of a bed room!

  • Hi, just wondered how any of those kids who sat the GL this morning? My DS completed and he said English really hard (all 3 comprehensions) but maths ok. Lots of kids didn't get English paper completed.
  • My daughter done the first aqe test last week and also said that the English was harder in that test. It must be the year of hard English tests.
  • My son did GL today - he said maths was OK and English harder. 3 comprehensions, one was very long, one had lots of characters in it so hard to keep track. A few in his school didn't get it finished and I have heard of others too. Everyone we have heard from said the same.
