I looked over the marks my DS was getting in papers 1, 2 and 3. He seemed to do just as well in paper 2 or 3 than paper 1. All depended on the careless mistakes. I am hoping he will be a bit calmer for the next paper.
  • May100 I did the same, my son has tended to find the first the hardest when I checked his marks. I too just hope that has settled him for the next two. He seems happy now. I am exhausted with worry! Lol

My son has always found paper 2 the hardest so here's hoping the paper he's just done has gave him enough confidence, he said he had about 10 mins to check his work. Was a poor boy crying his eyes out going into the class room he didn't want to do it, if my son was like that I don't think I would have put him through it. Party food for dinner tonight to celebrate first test over.

There was a disruptive child in the room my DS was doing it. Kept shouting out ' how do you do this etc..' The invigilator had to have him removed from the room but it was a bit disturbing. He was bothersome at the familarisation day too. Hopefully he will either wise up before the next one or drop out of it.
I am shattered but DS seems chilled this afternoon! The kids seem to cope better than the parents!!
  • My daughter is that chilled I do the worrying for her, she's even the same when she does her music exams, I do the stressing until the results come out she always gets distinction in music and says I told you not to worry.....
  • One down, two to go!
I am blooming exhausted, I woke at 5 and couldn't get back over, I had to wake his lordship at 8!
His form was great this morning and didn't seem stressed at all.
Came out from test and said the English was hard, he had time to go over it and corrected some things and didn't want to talk about it anymore really.
I went out shopping with my mother and son didn't want to so stayed at home and my husband said he was 'on the verge of weepy' over nothing at all.
    What a bloody system!

  • Did anyones child wear a watch into the exam?
Daughter didn't but noticed at least one other wearing one and according to daughter they were not removed or asked to remove them.
My daughter would find wearing one very helpful but we followed the rules, seems unfair if the rules aren't being implemented.

    Hi,
I would maybe ring the school and just voice your concerns that a child was wearing a wrist watch. Hopefully the invigilator will check more carefully next time.
  • Hi, just came across this forum last night! My youngest dd sat the paper yesterday. Has been consistent in her marks over last few months, 86-95%. Was a bit nervous last week but seemed ok going into the test yesterday. However, when I went to collect her she was very pale and looked like she was about to cry! She's not an overly emotional child so I was a bit shocked. She had expected it to be easier than it was and some others had said it was easy so that has freaked her out. She said maths was ok but English seemed hard. Now I'm panicking that her nerves have got the better of her! Don't want her panicking even more before the next one.

    Hi 2121mumof1
same boat as you. Marks were high 80s mud 90s. DS came out shaly and said English was hard and he had no checking time left. All the kids are faced with same conditions. I think they'll cope better in next 2 papers. We are trying not to talk about it. Today DS said he found it hard but he was ok when he was going it but just crumpled when it was over as he was hoping to have checking time and didn't. I never heed the ones who say it is easy - different kids have different expectations. Sometimes the high performing ones expect a lot of themselves and if they see a few hard questions they only remember the hard bits and forget to mention the odd 80% they sailed through.
