If you don't mind another box, buy a NowTV box (or a roku device). It cheep and reliable way to get BBC iPlayer).
  • Freesat box is getting I player info via the web but BBC3 is missing, was there last week?

    Mike.
  • I think the OP still expects to be able to watch BBC Three as a linear channel as it was originally broadcast with scheduled times for programmes etc.

Unfortunately, due mainly to budgetary cuts at the BBC, the channel has effectively closed down. It is some BBC Three content which has now moved online.

It is now possible to access particular programmes deemed BBC Three, in the same manner other programmes are accessed via the iPlayer as "catch up"

The channel is not being streamed (it's not a channel anymore), any programme watched will need to be downloaded prior to viewing individually.

    It's all rather sad, really…

Another way would be if you have an Amazon Fire Stick and load Kodi on to it you can have BBC iplayer as an add on and hence watch BBC Three through your TV.

Just realised that the base Amazon settings also have BBC iplayer as an app for the fire stick so you do not even need Kodi (though without Kodi you would miss out on lots of other things )

The formal date for the launch of BBC3 as an internet channel is 1st March 2016.

but there again I never watched it

At which point it will only be available to the 30% of the population that own an iPad or iPhone, then in 5 years time they'll bodge something together for Android, followed later by putting something workable together for set top boxes.

Gotta love those Apple fan boys over at the BBC, just like with TopGear they'd rather shoot themselves in the foot than actually do something the license payer wants to see.

Talking of tellies. You can still watch BBC3 on your smart TV, too. Or through Sky, Virgin, Xbox, Playstation, Amazon Fire and Google Chromecast.
