We gave up on Valentines gifts and cards years ago. So today is just like any other.
No fuss, no hassle, no offense
Anyone else out there do the same?

Pretty much. The only flowers I get at this time of year are a bunch of daffs :rotfl:left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense

We've never really done Valentine's Day. Been married 22 years this year but been together a lot longer.
It's all a waste of money. I sometimes get some flowers the week after Valentine's Day, you know the reduced ones the shops couldn't sell? Very MSE.
Just had a text off dd saying she told her boyfriend not to buy her anything, apparently he wasn't happy about it but respected her request, she's really pleased he hasn't bought her anything as she feels it's a rip off as well.0 -
We don't bother either, you should show someone you love them every day, not just one day a year. It's the little touches that show someone you care.Treat other's how you like to be treated.

I've taken my love life advice by misquoting Twelfth Night:
"And I'll strive to please you everyday"

We haven't done Valentines day for years either. It was my birthday 3 days before and I get flowers from OH for that so they are still going strong!! He does get annoyed at having to pay more due to time of year. We have been married 34 years. Both of us agreed years ago that Valentines day is fun for youngsters and we did do it in the early days of our relationship but it gets a bit stale when you have been together as long as we have. I think we stopped when our income dropped after having children almost 30 years ago now! My OH wont stop.. I've not got him anything every year and he still gets me sweets and flowers.. he will not be told.. this year however i had caught him eyeing up a bottle of grown up pop, so i sneakily bought him it (thank heaven for vouchers
) so he was most shocked.

We didn't today, no cards or flowers, but we went for breakfast in local pub - 2 for £10 offer- and we had lovely walk in one historic site0

We don't bother. Only time we've done it in years was 3 years ago as it was our first married one and I thought it would be nice to get wife and husband cards, which it was. But then we stopped again!0
