Have a load of ornaments and baubles that are sentimental as well alfie. I even have the fairy for the top of the tree that was bought the year I was born. She is a bit tatty so I place her underneath with the Christmas ornaments. Have thought about replacing her ballerina skirt but then she wouldn't be the same. Well done on smoke detector win ff. I had new ones put in about seven years ago and they are wired to the mains so do not have to bother about batteries.
  • LOL firefly, snap, had 5 smoke alarms delivered as well. Not sure what I will do with them as we have electric ones already fitted here. Someone will want them I expect.

Well done on the exam April.

Son-in-Law that passed his test a few weeks ago has smashed his van already! He was on the way to Whitby to take the GS to Scout camp and it was foggy. They are OK but van is in a bit of a mess and having to be towed back to Leeds.

Your trees sond lovely Rose & Alfie. GD did ours last week and made us a lovely snowflake for the window as well.

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

Thank god your SIL and GS are ok Sylvia xx As Rose said, the van can be replaced but it must have been scary for them. It's always a bad road on the Whitby road when it's foggy.

Crusty rolls and soup sounds perfect Rose! I bet your son has missed your cooking.

Well done on the smoke alarms fire**fly and Sylvia :T :j I have the electronic ones too but it's always handy to have extra protection especially if there's a power cut :)

Hope your friends funeral went well as expected Sheils xx That's good your son is setting up his cafe soon, hope it works well for him.

Well done April passing your mini exams :T All your hard work is paying off.

Alfie, I'm the same when it comes to the Xmas tree! That's when my OCD kicks in when the kids start messing with the tree! :D I expect your puddy will be messing with your tree. Jasper is very hyper at Xmas time. DD came home with a present and opened it but Jasper thought it was for him and kept trying to take it off her!

I'm so proud of how much my DD1 has improved since starting college. She auditioned for Cinderella and got the part! Something she would never do before as she could barely speak in public. I don't know what she will do when this course is over as she's made lots of friends mostly who are on the autistic spectrum like her and don't judge her like others used to at school. She only ever had one friend throughout school now she has lots! :)

I've just realised what time it is :o I must stop having these evening nana naps!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Puddy has already been messing with my tree wingo - though
not just the tree this year - she's becoming obsessed with
    everything christmassy!

The other day I heard a strange noise and found puddy with
a small christmas basket hanging around her neck!
She's so bloomin' nosey! :D Yesterday it was spot the puddy
in the tree!  :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It's wonderful to hear how settled and happy your daughter
is at college. :A And it's brilliant that she auditioned for
Cinderella and got the part! :T:T:T No wonder you feel so
very proud, I would too. :grinheart

Well, I must try and catch up with comps before my day
    begins! ordi1fun.gif

    Good Morning all,

Was glad to get yesterday by with. My friend had planned her funeral with all her own music choices etc so we had happy music especially when her coffin was taken out when she had loud clapping type music!
Her husband made a lovely speech too which had us all in tears. Felt so sorry for the children especially the youngest who is 14. Other 2 are same as mine - boy of 20 and girl of 18. The older 2 had lots of friends who were there to support them later (including mine) So sad.
Going to have our first "Xmas" today though so got to be cheerful now.

Well done on winning the smoke alarms FF and Sylvia. Wonder why they gave you 5 each! We had 2 electric ones and had bother when they got older. - couldn't easily get them to go off! Really tricky getting them disconnected. Mine had back up batteries in them too. Never replaced them anyway, just got battery ones now.

It is lovely your DD is having more fun now wingo and well done to her for getting the Cinderella role.

Great your cat getting into Xmas mode Alfie! DD's kitten has a little elf costume and loves having it on, purrs away. Funnily enough he hasn't touched her tree.

Hope everyone has a lovely day, be lucky.

Morning everyone. Quite bright here today and not so cold. Been out food shopping as DS wants some meals for his freezer. So that will keep me busy today and tomorrow. He is off out shopping with GK's for dil's christmas presents. He asked if I wanted to go and when he saw the look of horror on my face he knew it was a no lol. He was going to a shopping centre that is busy at the best of times never mind it now being full of mad christmas shoppers. Shiels good luck with today. Glad everything went ok yesterday. Wingo good for your dd she seems to be doing well now. Alfie cats are such curious creatures and can be very funny. The cats we had when we were young used to get up to all sorts of things. Hope everyone is well good luck with comps and for those who are just about tearing their hair out at the advents (like me) doing a few but hate ploughing through them inhale and breathe.
