Good dd has got her placement sorted shiels. will be a weight of her mind. Hope her times work out with the buses. When I worked in a hospital years and years ago lol. Buses and trains to where I lived were non existent When I finished backshift. So had to rely on taxis which is why I went on to start driving and got myself a mini. Loved that car. Remember when I traded it in for an escort I had a bit of a tear in my eye. Anyway got a new Bank of England £5 note in my change today had to look at it twice as it was a lot smaller and feel of it was funny. But I can see it will last a lot longer than old fivers. Thanks shiels for perfume sample could not figure out where it had came from.

Thanks Rose. Dd is trying to get driving test but no dates available at the moment. Placement is 30 miles away so taxis a no no really!
The new £5s are a bit strange.

Glad you are enjoying yourself Sheils.

Indie, I think your body butter win may have come from the Daily Glamour comp if you do it as its all body butterof different kinds this month I think.

Nice getting the perfune in your bag Wingo you deserve it.

Sylvia gammon egg and chips sound fab to me. Used to love a gammon steak with a poached egg on top. Never had one for years so you have given me an idea. I have some bacon steaks in freezer. Love homely cooking in the colder weather. Home made soup, roast dinners, Stovies ( in Scotland we all have different recipes) They were traditionally made with the left overs from Sunday roast. I make mine with sausage. onions , potatoes, beef lard and stock. Had one before son went away when we went out for lunch and it was more soup/stew like.

    Good morning everyone

It's also a bright and beautiful day here fire**fly/indie - the
only teeny weeny problem is that the sun shows up all the
dusty places in my abode! :p

Best get back to the very long task of cleaning/clearing my
garage today - it's actually much easier to do when the
sun's shining cos I can actually see into the dark spidery
    depths!

Brilliant news sheils re your DD getting her placement. :T

Well done to all for receiving the freebies. :D :j

I had to chuckle at the story of your first car rose. Many
years ago I had an 'old' VW Beetle ...

    618482a4cdd84dad74de805c15535c32.jpg

... loved him to bits and drove him for many years :heartsmil ....
his nickname was Bones due to all the creaking and rattling
    noises he made! :p :rotfl::rotfl:

Well - must get on and try and catch up on comps first
ecrire-ordi.gif then it's on to the garage. :p

Love your beetle pic Alfie. My friend had a yellow one and our kids thought it most strange with the engine at the back. Still she loved it for years and you could see her coming. Good luck with garage. Years ago a neighbour came looking for her cat, who had managed to climb behind a cupboard in our garage. The neighbour came out with cat and her hair covered in cobwebs.

Firefly it was very breezy here first thing very sunny out there now. Think it's milder today. We are going to do big online shop this week. They sent DH a £14 off if you spend £70 so time to stock up nearly empty cupboards.

Sheils great your daughter has placement hope the transport is not going to be too big a problem.

Sylvia you made me feel hungry with all your cooking. Enjoy your day.
Hope everything goes well for DH.

I spoke to my sister yesterday and she sounded so much better she's still a bit week but on the mend.

Wingo great you have a bike for your son.

Congrats to all who won freebies.

Indie put your feet up when you are home.

    Good luck everyone.

Love home cooked meals Rose, never really buy take out. Love roast and soups etc you can't beat them.

Rose's cooking always makes me feel hungy firefly too.

Glad DD got her placement sorted out Sheils. I expect you are busy with the washing and ironing after being away.

Glad you Sister is on the mend leanfun.

Must get on as GD is coming again today as she has a half day and has gone to McD's just down the road from us.

Remember our first car was an old Austin Alfie, when you put the turn indicaters on a little stick thing shot out of the side LOL Think it looked like this one...

Talking of winter food I got the slow cooker out yesterday and did beef stew before work and left it all day and when I got in dropped the dumplings in and tasted lovely no work involved!:)
steak puddings and chips and peas tonight - not had puddings for ages so thought would give them a go , just get bored of thinking of things at the moment to do seem to do the same things week in week out!

brilliant sunshine here this morning but windy and raining on and off now:(

ooh had the results of my MRI and 3 bulging discs and some nerve root narrowing but no operation on the cards unless I become incontinent or lose the ability to walk:eek::eek: just have to rely on painkillers and physio for now doctor said. I want to get my moneys worth out of that pram walking it :rotfl::rotfl: so exercise it is
