Such sad news Cathp. I lived in the country as a child and my beloved cat was run over too. My parents didn't tell me though and I spent weeks searching for her as we were inseperable. At least your children know the truth. My daughter now has a kitten and lives in the town so I am so scared for him when she lets him out.

Thank you for all your support. The house feels really sad so my daughter and I have been looking at the cats that need a home on our local cat rescue website. Before getting a cat I gave it a lot of thought as even though we live in the country cars and lorries that do go past go really fast. We have woods both sides of us, field behind, road in front then another field. But my neigbour had an old cat so I thought it would be ok. But their cat does not really go further than their front door step. So I just can't risk it again. I have considered making it a house cat but that just does not seem fair. I thnk we will just have to cuddle other peoples cats.

Think maybe firefly is right Cath, maybe see if you can get a house cat from the rescue centre or have you considered a house rabbit?

You are still in my thoughts Cathp. :A

    I own a house puddy cat - she's such a sweetie and I love
    her to bits.

She wouldn't survive outside due to her timid nature. She'll
be 5 years old this month and has always stayed in - she's
never shown any interest at all in going outside.

Lol ... I would like to think that she loves me sooo much
that she can't bear to be parted from me ..... but she soon
shows me who's the boss in my house - and it certainly isn't
    me! :whistle: :p :rotfl::rotfl:

Her brother (living with my lovely daughter and family) is
the complete opposite though - loves going out all the time!

As our lovely fire**fly says - 'whatever you decide to do
lots of love sent your way'. xxx

Thanks for the Buddha fire**fly :A I had my first little win of the month early this morning. I got an email saying a fiver bonus from a bingo site I must have registered with a while back. I didn't remember registering with it so I clicked on to check and I had so I used the £5 bonus and won £70 :) However I had to contact them to change my bank card as it expired a while ago! Son also got a free aftershave sample I sent for him from freebies :)

Just watching X factor. What is everyone else watching?

Yay! Very well done on your cash win wingo and for receiving
    the freebie aftershave sample! :j :D :T:T:T

I was watching the X Factor too - so many tears and upsets/
tantrums though already! :p Had to laugh when the 'lad' was
pushed into the swimming pool by his friend (LW group) - did
think they would start arguing again with each other! Under-
cooked chicken immediately sprang to mind! ;) :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh well, best be off to find something to do. :p Have a
wonderful Sunday all, take care - I'll pop by later. :)

    Hi everyone,

We are home safely and have 1st wash load out! Been a lovely sunny day.
Really enjoyed our break. Parts of Dorset are so beautiful especially where we were - beside Chesil Beach on other side from Portland.
We will need to get on with the gardening this week and car goes in for its 1st service on Tuesday. At least the 1st 3 services are "free" (know it is included in price somewhere!) Got an eye test at Specsavers on Tuesday too. I need new glasses.
Forgot to say I won £31 on the Quidco Instant win game. £25 and 6x £1.
Couldn't really enter anything else as the internet was so slow and didn't have it very often.

    hi & welcome leahhold :hello:
rules are newbies can't post links until they've made between
10-20 posts on the boards (exact number isn't disclosed)
    it's to help deter spammers,
if you've a new comp to post you can still post the
details/rules etc in comps board & someone normally
comes along to help & will check out/post/add
    the link for all :)
you can check/search if your comp has already
been posted or if you need any help regarding posting
comps there's some great info/help in our comping guide here..

Sticky: NEW COMPERS PLEASE READ - Competition Board - useful links

Well done on the cash win on quidco Sheils :j I've seen that Comp but never entered. Glad you had a lovely break and hopefully you can get back there again some time. :)
CathP I agree with others, perhaps a house rabbit might ease the pain a little. My sis has a rabbit, although it isn't a house rabbit it loves just walking in the house looking for her daughter! It's a lop eared one and so fluffy and cuddly but as you say, it's sad when a pet dies and takes time to get over it xx

Hope you've made the most of the weather Alfie. It is very autumnal. The sun was blazing but there was still a nip in the air.

Fire**fly, hope you're feeling much better now and normal duties resumed :) Can't believe it's October already. Where has this year gone!

I don't know why I watched XFactor, what a total load of tripe! Louis and Sharon let all the best singers go home and put the worst through!

I think I need to log out after me on here. Hubby must be going on here too, not sure what for as I know when I last logged in which was when I last posted but it says I last logged in earlier. I like to see all the new comps but they are not highlighted when he's logging onto it!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

    still watch it though :D
    naughty hubby!
tell him you need to know which ones
    are new ones :D

hope everyone's well & ((hugs)) for anyone needing one x
