Hi FireFly and all.
We had a great weekend with GS. We took him to Dover Castle yesterday, which was just as well with rain today. We had a brilliant time. We all managed to climb to the top of the Keep. Great view from up there. GS was really happy all weekend and very good company.
Sheils hope you have an enjoyable trip to Wales and your DHs brother is vastly improved. Congrats on your win very useful for you.
Sylvia hope things are looking up for you. Been thinking of you.
April I expect it's the Baking prize but hope it's something good. I had a good wins book arrive on Friday and DH started reading it straight away.a retired policeman had written about his life.
Lo Alfie I could just visualise your Puddy. Must have been bad for you to close for. Can dust imagine the look on her face when she came back nd settled on new bed.

Morning everyone!
Wingo - hope the dress turns out to be just as expected and fits!
Alfie - hahaha, cats can be so determined sometimes, can't they!
Sheils - hope you have a lovely time in Wales - you don't seem to sit still for long!
Ugh, I feel like such a horrible person - one of my friends got engaged last week and announced it on Facebook last night. I find it really hard to be happy for people when my life is so rubbish, and I know that's awful. There seems to be a neverending stream of relatives and friends getting engaged/married/buying dream houses/getting brilliant jobs etc etc, while my life just plods on with nothing special happening... Also - I hate not being told personally and having to find out on Facebook! Rant over...0 -
Ho April life is hard at times. Agree with you about Facebook.
Our DD1 went through what you are going through. She split with long term partner just after her 30th birthday and had a very miserable few years. She met and went out with some very odd characters until she met her present husband. They now have five year old son.
Think positive concentrate on what you are going to do on September. You never know what part time study will bring.
Wingo through one of the freebie emails we applied to go to see a recording of pointless. Web site was called Standing Room Only. DH applied for this.
Then he saw tickets for the Paladium and because we had been to one show he gets priority tickets. We went to see the last show with Bradley Walsh free. We were able to walk past the queues, pick up tickets go and have a meal and return. I've never really thought about Simply red before but live they were good. We really enjoyed the evening and everyone went in free.
I also joined Showfilmfirst after finding it over on Freebies site. They sometimes send codes for free tickets to the cinema and local theatres. We are going to a musical at our local theatre tonight. We had to pay £1 each for admin for tickets normally £21-£24. We'll see how it goes as this is our first time with them.
April I have just looked up at Showfilmfirst has something on their site for Glasgow, so they might have for your area too. They sent me codes for a film I wasn't able to go to. Films are free no admin fee.0 -
Good morning all, hope you are OK today.
Big hugs AprilLady, its amazing how things suddenly turn around, take one day at a time.
Nice to hear from your Wingo.
Have a lovely evening Leanfun.
Still plodding here and now the shower is playing up so waiting in on repair man coming.
Good luck everyoneBIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS0 -
^^^ Hahaha - look what i just found - another me!
:hello: Hellooeee everyone!
Hope you're all ok.It's a tad wet here on and off, but
the garden will be enjoying the drink! Lovely bright sky
though and still warm - hmmm - 'tis very strange weather
at the mo! The sun's out now!
Great to hear from you sheils - hope you had a safe
journey to Wales today and that your BIL is well on the
road to recovery now.
leanfun - sounds as if you had a brilliant weekend with
your GS! Think you picked the perfect weather day to visit
Dover Castle - bet the views were spectacular!
 Hi wingo! Did you also watch The Patron's Lunch
yesterday? It was lovely! You're right, the Queen
looks really well - she wore a fuchsia pink coat with
matching hat to the lunch.
The parade was brilliant and she laughed when she
saw the huge model of the Royal Yacht Britannia. Fond
memories.I hope your DD's prom dress arrives soon -
I'm thinking it will be just perfect in every way! Fingers
'n paws crossed! :T
I agree with others April! Best to think positive and
try not to take any notice re silly old facebook. Onwards
and upwards has always been my moto - life can be
pretty damn hard but ...... every cloud has a silver
lining so you never know what lovely times await you.
Just going to catch up swiftly with comps now so take
care all, will catch up later.
Alfie xxxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES0 -
I'm happy to report the prom dress came and it was the exact fit, style and colour! :j DH was winding me up at first when he met me from work saying the dress was to big, wrong colour etc! He told me the truth when he saw me getting upset!
It was a risk that paid off getting it made from an online store, they were £500 in the bridal stores.
Alfie, I did see the queens outfit yesterday and very nice it was too. I imagine her wardrobe is a variety of colours. I liked the fascia colour best on her I think
It's been really drizzly and horrid here today too fire**fly. It's that type of rain that makes your hair frizzy!
Aw April, I hate it when things get posted on FB too like that.I found out my mum was ill on FB by a relative and it annoyed the hell out of me. I really hope you'll find mr right soon and then you'll be able to torment them on FB!
That sounds good leanfun, I like game shows etc but too scared to go on one! There's a good pantomime I want to see at Newcastle, I will have to look up that website.
Hope things are better Sylvia with DH and the flat xx
Nothing much happening here on the win front but hope everyone else had some good newsBig thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

Thanks leanfun. I will have a practical qualification after 3 years, so that leaves me with better career prospects than my degree did I suppose!
I've been a member of ShowFilmFirst for a few years now, but it's not often the send me things!lomaxsylvia wrote: »Big hugs AprilLady, its amazing how things suddenly turn around, take one day at a time.
Thanks sylvia - fingers crossed good things come my way soon! Hi wingo! Did you also watch The Patron's Lunch

Thank you Alfie! I really hate the internet and social media sometimes, although it does have its uses!
I thought the Queen looked so lovely yesterday, it looked like she was in a really good mood too! I wasn't so keen on Saturday's Kermit green, but they do say she dresses brightly so all the people who've come out to see her can easily spot her in the crowds!
Wingo - that must be such a relief that the dress is so perfect - woohoo!!That's so horrible that you had to find out about your mum through Facebook!
Hahaha, I would be a hypocrite if I was really smug and happy on FB if the time comes! It's not just about finding Mr Right, it's just that most aspects of my life seem to be the opposite of how I want them! One friend got married, bought a dream house, and had a baby in one year, and another got married, graduated, bought a house, a dog, and started a business in one year! Do you think some people are just more fortunate than others?Save
