Get this merged with your other thread. I'd complain to the DVLA that Gladstones (acting on behalf of whichever PPC is pursuing you) are using someone else's data in letters to you.

Ask them to investigate and report back. This is potentially a breach of the Data Protection Act and a breach of the PPC's Kaddoe contract with the DVLA. Could be serious stuff.

When you get the DVLA response, I'd then be reporting G's to the ICO and the SRA.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Thank you - I have sent a letter to the DVLA although, they said to expect a 4 week turnaround.

How do I merge this thread with my original? - I'm not sure how to PM those users (I don't come on here often!)

Try another board guide. They are displayed in a short list at the bottom, on page one of this forum board.

  • I have requested that my posts are merged but for the time being my original post:

    Hi all,
I have never received a 'private' parking charge (I have had a council parking fine before) and I have recently received a letter claiming I was parked in an area without a permit. The charge is £150! I never had a parking charge stuck to my window or I would have paid it!

£150 seems steep! In my experience, these fines should be reasonable to recoup their loss but I'm struggling to see how they lost £150? I've also typed in the location they have said I was in however, it is a one-way system with nowhere to park so I'm struggling to see where I parked. I never park anywhere but Tesco and that is free for 2 hours and nowhere near this street they have told me I was on.

    HELP!

Do I just pay it? They say that because I didn't respond within 28 days I cannot appeal but I never received the parking fine? I always check my car before I get in it (paranoia of flat tyres) and there has never been anything on the floor!

    Hi all,

Should I contest jurisdiction? - It asks this as one of the questions during acknowledging the claim.

Always ... you have the hearing at YOUR local court.

Isn't all this already covered in the COURT section of the NEWBIES thread?
