Wow LegoMum great bargains for the kids. My son is into LEGO dimensions for the xbox and the packs go from £15 to £30. Ridiculous. Glad you are feeling better.
Determined - hope you don't go stir crazy indoors with poorly little one and you as well. Ally had some great ideas there for entertainment. Also liked yours about the bath the other night you said.
BB - good luck with your spring cleaning.
So today so far we have seen off MIL. She is now safely home. We had to go to the supermarket as we'd run out of nappies, bread and milk. We got £5 off in nectar points. And I found 1p on the way home.
My phone bill is a lot higher this month than usual because of the fact they didn't have wifi in hospital. But I didn't realise that for the first 2 days. And it was my lifeline whilst I was alone in there so I think I can justify it. However my contact is up either this month or next and I am going to go to sim only for definate.
Also the NT had sent our new membership cards for the year ahead with DD due next month. But after a soul searching discussion with DH we have decided we are going to cancel. It's sad because we've been members for 7 years but as we don't have a car and I have missed so many weekends from having work on we don't feel it's cost effective any longer. We only used the membership once last year. So cost saving of £105 next month.
Our energy bill is also higher than usual for this month. £126 instead of £56 off peak or £90 recently. I think it's from having a house full for several weeks and also using the tumble drier more.
I've been sat under a blanket since lunchtime. We all had a cuppa soup and cheese and crackers and watched Reef 2 on Netflix. It's very cold here but no snow. Wrote a few thank you cards to people who have been lovely whilst I've been sick.
See you later

Hello Frugal Friends,
Today I have mostly been spendy.
The most money-saving thing was when we called in at Waitrose because we forgot to buy spread yesterday. There was a plateful of the most gorgeous chocolate truffles to sample.......so Piggy Mrs F goes round 3 times & succeeds in purloining 6 of the beauties.....while mr f queued for free coffees to have with them!
I must do better next week or shall need to visit mrs spank from smacked bottom land!
Have a nice night all,
F xxxxxxx
P.S I have lager.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 6.5kg/30kg

Hey :hello:
What a lovely relaxing day:j - it's my version of a 'nothing' day though so plenty going on.
Ziggy - I hope that your mum is ok. Thinking of you :grouphug:
Legomum - seriously brilliant bargains today.
I've bagged another nsd, but tomorrow will have to be a bit spendy. I asked dh and ds to bring back milk on their way home from football, but they were so busy celebrating Sunderland finally winning that they forgot. So I'll have to head off to a shop somewhere tomorrow. Better make sure I make a list and stick to it. This one big shop a month seems to be working ok so far though - I think we've spent a lot less than we normally would.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »

Morning all
Thanks for the start Jonno - enjoy those 'out of date' bananas, supermarkets must really think we are daft, mustn't they :rotfl:
List for today:
*Had a shower instead of a bath, washed hair with Lidl shampoo (my favourite) and let it dry naturally - always do this, so never think of it as a money saving thing. I do have a hairdryer, somewhere, as my friend used it last time she came to stay :rotfl:
*Used up a shrivelled apple from fruit bowl with my porridge and yogurt for breakfast
*Fed hens and dog
Still to do:
*Fold washing on airer and put in airing cupboard to finish off. That way I don't get to look at the airer all dayDone
*Dog walks x 2, hopefully not raining too much Only managed one short walkIt has rained hard all day. I did try a walk in the rain, but himself decided after about 10 minutes that he was heading for home :rotfl:
*Read permaculture guide I downloaded (free download, not sure if it is any good or not) Done, interesting, but didn't learn much.
*Small shop at Mr S as I need a couple of ingredients for the curry I want to make (I have most of what is needed)Also scourers as Savers didn't have any yesterday (all glamour here :rotfl:) Done, also had to go to Waitrose as Mr S didn't have one of the ingredients I was looking for.
*Take paper recycling with me and put in the recycling bin at the back of the sm car park Done
*Walk for free exercise and to avoid awful traffic in town - I will take my trusty shopping trolleyTook the car due to the rain
*Any online surveys and check FPL No surveys today
*Postal survey tasks (they send me really boring magazines, wish I could request gardening ones :rotfl:) Done
*Make a cake - there was a recipe on one of the other threads for a fruit cake with crushed pineapple which I have been wanting to tryNot done, one for tomorrow
*HM meals Done
*Some houseworkVery little
*Babysitting tonight so that DD2 and her OH can go out for a Valentines meal(I will have to drive there) Currently there
Hope everyone has a good day (despite the weather - raining again here)
Not an enormously productive day, but I was able to cross more off my list than I thought!0
