Sat/Sun 13th/14th Feb - what small DFW things will you do this 'luuurrvly' weekend

Options
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Packed lunch for us all for stint at girls club
Think of free activities for half term
    One thing off February list.

Think that's it for now. Off to eat a banana ;)
  • Good morning everyone :j I've been awake on and off since 5 and I don't even care :j It's snowing, and I don't even care :j because I'm not leaving the house today. It's a day of stuff for me to do what I want to do, and there's not stress about anything.
Thanks everyone for kind words - Ziggy I wish I had the confidence with my crafty stuff, lol.
OK - there's still always time for a good list though :D
    :) Check banking and PAD
    :) Hoover through
:) Spend lots of time on here
:) Spend lots of time crafting
:) Enjoy some girlie time with dd while the boys are out today
    :) do not stress
:) Plan food for next week. This includes cutting back on sugar which is getting out of control again.
:) Get dh to get milk while they are out
:) Stay snuggled under the blankets downstairs
:) Nap if I need to
:) Sort through my wool stash
:) Make my pom pom valentines wreath
:) Look for an alternative watch - mine needs a new battery but I'm not going out just for that.
Have a good day all. I plan to

    Morning all :)
Thanks for the start Jonno - enjoy those 'out of date' bananas, supermarkets must really think we are daft, mustn't they :rotfl:

    List for today:
*Had a shower instead of a bath, washed hair with Lidl shampoo (my favourite) and let it dry naturally - always do this, so never think of it as a money saving thing. I do have a hairdryer, somewhere, as my friend used it last time she came to stay :rotfl:
*Used up a shrivelled apple from fruit bowl with my porridge and yogurt for breakfast :)
    *Fed hens and dog

    Still to do:
*Fold washing on airer and put in airing cupboard to finish off. That way I don't get to look at the airer all day :)
*Dog walks x 2, hopefully not raining too much
*Read permaculture guide I downloaded (free download, not sure if it is any good or not)
*Small shop at Mr S as I need a couple of ingredients for the curry I want to make (I have most of what is needed) :) Also scourers as Savers didn't have any yesterday (all glamour here :rotfl:)
*Take paper recycling with me and put in the recycling bin at the back of the sm car park
*Walk for free exercise and to avoid awful traffic in town - I will take my trusty shopping trolley :)
*Any online surveys and check FPL
*Postal survey tasks (they send me really boring magazines, wish I could request gardening ones :rotfl:)
*Make a cake - there was a recipe on one of the other threads for a fruit cake with crushed pineapple which I have been wanting to try :)
    *HM meals
    *Some housework :(
*Babysitting tonight so that DD2 and her OH can go out for a Valentines meal :) (I will have to drive there)

Hope everyone has a good day (despite the weather - raining again here) :)
  • Apparently it's Internet Friends Day!

    Happy Internet Friends Day people!

  • Going to shop at Aldi instead of Tesco today. I hope Aldi roses will last until tomorrow!

La E I thought of you yesterday, well actually your dh, when I had my dinner of steak (use by date 08/02) and baby leaf salad (31/01) :rotfl: both were absolutely fine! :j

Cat glad you've made it to the half term! :j Hope you're able to slow down so you can just enjoy it and unwind :D

Dawn very resourceful re the cami :T bravo!

Bob great news that your dh can stay home with you next week :T

    princess_pea hope you're feeling better today x

There's still a pox on our house but dgd is developing a serious case of cabin fever. She might just have to suffer it today though as the weather is lousy and there's no way I can face a softplay centre....

Not sure what my small things will be today but I will definitely:

    * hang up washing & do another load
    * all meals from stores
    * roast beef in gravy out of freezer for tea
    * tidy up the house as it's a bomb site :(
    * working tonight at 6
    * possibly plant some more seeds although not sure I'll get round to this

    Jeez that's a small list! x

Do you have a big cardboard box? Place child inside cardboard box (with lid open!) and supply child with crayons to colour away inside.

Or get your dining table and hang sheets over it to make a Wendy House/Princess Palace/Blanket Fort. Put cushions inside.

Or get a margarine tub, decorate it and float it in a bucket.

Or get a deck of playing cards and try to make a tower of cards. (Link)

Or draw the curtains and get a torch/desk lamp and make shadow puppets on the wall.

Or, if it's not raining, make chalk drawings on the garden path.
