But I will add forgotmyname, that is the deal I was after, but in the Life mobile website, that came up at £7.95, even though it said £6 elsewhere. So how do you ensure you get it at the uswitch deal as I have not come across that before.
You simply click the link on the uswitch website to get this deal:

OK, so there's nothing wrong with 4G, it's something I overlooked to mention and having looked at the Life Mobile site, it is only 3G. But, I've used my current SIM which is 3G in it before, so in hindsight, I could proceed with this offer as it is only monthly, then when Life Mobile introduce 4G as they imply they will, during this year, I could change presumably.
Now I'll look at your links, thanks.

SIM is just a Subscriber Identity Module. It's neither 3g, nor 4g.
It's the provider that can offer 4g or not and the phone that can either support 4g or not. All 4g phones support 3g as well, but mobile data transmission is faster on 4g.0 -

I think I need help please. Phoned EE and got my pac code. They invited me to stay with them and offer 250 mins, unlimited texts and 500 mb for £4.95 on a 12 month contract, but declined and took the pac code.
I'm ready to contact Life Mobile, but suddenly wonder if my hardly used smart phone is locked to EE which I now find it is. :-

So, does anyone know how much it is likely to cost to have this unlocked in a shop? (I don't want to go down the ebay route of trying to do it myself), and because this phone is an EE product, is it likely that they wont be able to unlock it? . If that's the case, maybe I am stuck and need to take up their £4.95 offer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. PAC [STRIKE]code[/STRIKE] !!!!!!.
Without looking hard I see £3 on ebay for unlocking. EE do this for £9.
However, as Life Mobile use EE network, a phone locked to EE is likely to work with Life SIM.0 -

Now that really is interesting and you've reminded me of something regarding life and ee I read yesterday in the life thread on ukhotdeals, will go and find it.
I have just read through all those posts, asked the question and someone thinks it would work, but I am sure you would agree I really do need to know, because if these rook phones can't be unlocked and if the life mobile wont work without it being unlocked, I'm stuffed. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Another thing worth mentioning, as it seems that no one else has, is that EE simply do not allow you to go over your data allowance. So if you reach 500MB, the data simply stops and you are offered the opportunity to purchase an add-on.
Whereas if you do the same with Life Mobile, you can be charged up to £1 per day for data unless you switch data off..
So choose what suits your likely usage pattern.0 -
I have an update.
I called EE this morning to request my pac. They in turn sent me to retentions who offered a deal for £4.95 giving 500mb and they told me they would cap any over use free. I declined their offer and am currently waiting for a reply to an email sent to Life Mobile in which I asked the question " my Rook is locked to EE, do I have to get it unlocked?".
As Life is somehow connected to EE it is my impression the sim will work, but as yet they haven't replied. Via hotukdeal, there is a long thread of satisfied uses of Life £6 deal via uswitch, in which customers are delighted with a) uk calling centre b) swift response and c) good service throughout.
I have to be sure my locked Rook WILL work with Life's SIm otherwise I'm stuffed as I don't know how to unlock. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I wouldn't turn down the offer of £5 for 500Mb.
500Mb is quite alot unless you are a big user or watch video's when out.
And it's 4G data if you have a modern phone.
The only down side is that the price could shoot up in a year, where as life should remain a sensible price.0
