The hollowest pasta shapes are a waste. The shells and the big wide tubes (penne?) are a bit rubbish. What's the point of chewing air? It's for breathing.
Pasta spirals, a bit better. Macaroni's ok. I've always suspected that spaghetti's just their thrown-away insides anyway. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I thought the idea was to pair the pasta with the sauce.

As long as the pasta is of consistent thickness. Can't bare the "bows" where the knot in the middle is always too hard, or the edges are too soft.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It's always fascinated me how different the different shapes taste. Maybe I should get out more.
At any rate, I like spaghetti, tagliatelle, fusilli, don't mind penne; don't much like pappardelle, and although I don't have an actual phobia of pasta shells I detest the flavour.
I love the idea of spaghetti being the unwanted middles of macaroni0 -
The mere sight of pasta shells makes me heave....a layover from when we were eating lots of them when I got pregnant with Josh and suffering morning sickness (or in my case, all blooming day sickness!)We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I want to like shells, but they stick together more than other pastas and you end up with a similar problem to the bows, with some pasta less done than others.
I feel sorry for them both now.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

i am such an anti-foodie, I really couldn't care about the shapemof my pasta.
In fact not having had any for 6 weeks I could probably eat it raw.I think....0 -
Gluten free pasta is okay. Be careful not send it soggy.
The more I think about this, the less good idea lasagne becomes.
How about a cottage pie. No gluten, no dairy!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
