Out of interest silver, what did you do about your dentist?
I used to have a terrible dentist, but current one is fab, so understand your frustration. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

other than they keep me on standard level for both Daily Living and Moving Around.
It was dated 30 November, so my request for Tribunal will have to be with the Tribunal Service by 28 December. So effectively I only have about a week and a half before sending it off - will send Next Day Guaranteed, but not sure if it's really "Guaranteed" over Xmas time, so will make sure there's plenty of time for it to get there Just In Case!
Today I hit the Gin! Tomorrow I start putting my papers in order. Fortunately I don't have to send all my evidence yet as that happens after I get the Bundle from DWP setting out their case. We've already got 2 copies of the form needed printed off - one for practice and one in case I FU the first.
I did have to LOL at that last comment:D. I hope it goes easier than you expect.
Really enjoyed reading the snippets about the relgious dates and traditions. I had never heard of La Befana before.
I can't remember if I've posted this before on the NP thread, but this book, Heirs to Forgotten Kingdoms by Gerard Russell
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DB4L2Z4/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1
is in my top ten of books. 5 star reviews on Amazon and rightly so, a fascinating insight into some of the lesser know religions of the Middle East. It's one of those that I can happily re-read.0 -

Timely post.
I went back to see mr extraction dentist yesterday. Where he was surprised that I had felt so rotten and suggested maybe I was jet- lagged or had a virus rather than anything connected to my teeth. He said the extraction area is all healing fine and looking good. Couldn't explain or see where it was sore and said I should just let things settle down for more time. Reassured me that there was no problem with it.
This appointment was booked for a crown on a tooth that had lost the filling when I was away and he did the whole lot there and then. Surprised me that he could do all in one go, but he has a machine that makes crowns while you wait.
So he thinks nothing further is needed for 3 months until he can do the first stage of the implant on the extraction.
So I am still registered with both, but think I will stick to the new guy.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. University of York which was on the list and then off the list several times, in the end made the submitted list. UCA (Farnham) which had been on the list for ages and Greenwich, didn't.
Lincoln is the one he desperately wants though. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Fingers crossed here for an offer from Lincoln, Sue x
bugslet That book looks fascinating! Have just bought the Kindle edition and looking forward to reading it :j
Silvercar, I hope you feel better extremely soon!
Pyxis I have a collection of postcards from the very end of the 19th century up to about 1920-ish. They belonged to my Nan's best friend, who very kindly gave me her album. Some of them were sent as Christmas cards, and I'm sure some of those have Father Christmas dressed in green. Others depict him in a dark red robe, I seem to recall. But as you say, very different from the modern "Santa Claus".
I think they are in the loft, so I can't check! Most of them were sent to Nan's friend when she was at boarding school in London during WW1, and one of them from her older sister says "Glad you weren't frightened of the Zepps." :eek:0 -

I love those old postcards!
I once collected picture postcards of a place I was linked to for a time, and found a set of 4 written at the turn of the century (edit.....oops! I mean turn of the 20thC!) from a lady living close to the place, written to a girl who lived in the town I lived in! Serendipitous!
I actually managed to find the cottage that the lady had sent the postcards from! It was so exciting!
The funny thing was that one of them said something like "Looking forward to seeing you later on today", and had been posted first thing that morning, obviously expecting the postcard to reach the destination before she did! Wow!(I just lurve spiders!)

One of the postcards in my Nan's own collection, evidently passed on to her by someone else, says "Albert - You just come round and see your mother this evening."
I always wondered what had happened and if Albert was being summoned because he'd done something his mother didn't approve of, or whether she just thought it would be nice to see him!0
