Wide Awake Club.
I've been lying here in the dark for aaages, probably close to an hour. Finally gave up and popped out for a cig and put the kettle on. 4am the clock in the kitchen said, so I figured I might as well get up .... came here and as the browser was loading, I saw the PC clock.
Doh, didn't change the kitchen clock -and- forgot to deduct 1 hour
Oh well.... I'm up now.0 -

As yet, I'm not bothered by it.... I don't expect any problems at all. Famous last words and all that, maybe... but I'm sure 1000/week have houses built next to them without issue.0 -

I was still trying to get to sleep at that time!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

While they are pretty, it's their perfume that makes me love them so much - my favourite cut flowers. OH can't smell them at all - which is why I always think it's extra kind of him to give them to me. It's genetically controlled if you can smell them or not. It's just a single compound that gives them that divine perfume.
My favourite cut flowers too. Partly because I love the scent, and partly because they remind me of my mum - they were her favourite too.The  bit is that PN lives in an end of terrace.

I think the thing being demolished is on the other side rather than the one she's attached to.PasturesNew wrote: »As yet, I'm not bothered by it.... I don't expect any problems at all. Famous last words and all that, maybe... but I'm sure 1000/week have houses built next to them without issue.
When we were living in our previous house, developers bought and demolished the detached house opposite and replaced it with a pair of semis. It didn't cause us any trouble. But then they did access the site from the other side, so their vehicles weren't coming along our road.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Re. The Lord Mayor's Show, have you seen Granny Turismo?

That's handy to know they're in flower now. I use them to teach genetics; I pass them round the class and see how many can smell them. It's supposed to be 2/3 of the UK population have the genes that let you smell them.:)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
