First day back at work after a week off and I so need a holiday, my non-work to do list scares me
Does anyone else find their home life takes up so much of their time they can't fit in a job?
I think....0 -

Disappointed Liverpool not in top 20. Guess we have too much poverty. But there's lots of free stuff for families to do in all the museums and galleries. I follow all the stuff that's available - just because I can't get to the exhibitions and the family friendly talks and workshops doesn't mean I can't be interested. I love my City!0 -

First day at school for DD.
We've had an amazing summer. I haven't done much work at all, everything else takes up a lot of my time. Whenever I sit down, there seems to be something else to do for the kids if I haven't already purposefully taken the day off.
It's been the perfect summer.
I have a VAT return due to be submitted and paid by tomorrow, but DS is not happy with his online school uniform purchases so we've got to go to the real shops today to replace it all.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

First day back at college yesterday for youngest, he had a later start as no lessons until lunchtime so I dropped him off on the way to the first year service on the car. He was quite late home as he got a lift back with a friend..turns out the friend took a wrong turn after dropping someone else home and they only realised when they reached Colchester!
No idea how they managed that, the last drop off was in Copdock and from there it is an easy left turn back onto the A12 and then onto the A14....they must have missed the left turn (god knows how, it is pretty obvious), carried on and inadvertently got on the road going outwards of Ipswich instead of inwards.
Been a good summer here too, if a little busy with the boys.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Hope DD has a good day Doozergirl
Does her school do the thing where the Year 7 children start a day before everyone else so they can start finding their way around in peace?
We're looking after the DGC after school today as their Dad has a Uni lecture to go to this afternoon. Last year I was walking along the road to meet DGS outside school simply because we both enjoyed it (the school's very close to home), but as he's in year 6 now he's opted to come home on his own. I just hope he does remember to come straight home, and not spend ages chatting to his friends so that I think he's been abducted.
His sister's school comes out slightly later, so her childminder will drop her off at home so that we don't have to go to the childminder's house to collect her later.
Sorry, what an incredibly boring thing to tell you0 -
Revelling in these posts. The first year when the concept of term time doesn't apply to this household in any form.
Facebook feed is full of posts of little (and not so little) darlings in their uniforms, all captioned, 'first day back at school'. Best one was a mum posting a picture of her front door - no kids in sight - captioned 'back to Hogwarts in their invisible cloaks'.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Ivyleaf, it's sweet. First day back, I imagine DGS will be chatting a lot after school! Does he have a phone yet?
Year 7 have the school, and the school bus, to themselves today. It's hard to get a seat at her stop usually, I'm told, but she says after school is the worst as the boys' school are the first stop and then it's a bun fight for the girls.
I've bought her Doctor Martens as school shoes. They'll be either protection or weapons for the busEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It seems to have taken off this year that people are just posting pics of their kids going back to the same school they were at, where it used to be 'new school' pics.
Which, of course, I revelled in today. I will not be posting pics of DS on Thursday morning!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
