.... carried off by a puff of wind...
I eat pies to prevent being blown away by puffs of wind; it's worked so far
It's just a common or garden "shift dress" I think they call them. Slightly "A-line shape". It has no shaping, no waistband, no frills.
Checked the label, it says Dorothy Perkins, size 18. On the scale of things, I think Dorothy Perkins size 18 wouldn't be a compliment....0 -
...temp is down 3 degrees to 25C in my bedroom .....
It's currently 70F/21C here... grey, overcast, has rained quite a bit in the last 2 hours - and it's a bit windy, so feels colder than that.
It was lower earlier, 70/21 is "warmed up a bit"
And to think there are some local caravan owners that pay £7,500/year site rent for their £200k holiday caravans for this weather.0 -

But, yet, you said your size 10 shorts would fall off if you stood up! So now I'm envisaging you as being a small slip of a thing, no heavier than a dandelion seed!
I must admit, although I usually live in trousers, almost never in skirts or dresses, the recent hot weather has made me dig out my (also charity-shop) very thin, loose and long dress, ex-George. Can't remember what it cost, but probably £3 or £4 pounds.
It looks a bit like one of those Ancient Greek dresses you see on vases, although I'm more similar to the vase than to the sylphs that decorate them! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

I'd not say that
I'm an odd shape/size, that, generally, clothes don't fit.
I also have variable weight.
2004: I was 11st3, then dieted then
2005: I was 8st3, and stopped the diet, then
2006-2015: I was usually 9st7 - 9st10, then
2015: I was about 8st10 as I seemed to lose a stone,
2016: I seem to be about 8st7 or so
I am 5' tall and top heavy, needing to first check size 14s for tops.
Clothes are a random collection of bits and bobs, that rarely "go together" and often items don't fit. Trying to find something that fits, that goes together and is suitable for whatever I am trying to dress for is a nightmare.
A lot of my tops are "just fits", so if I put a bit of weight on they suddenly don't do up.0 -
Random find in burials 1840:
Mrs .... buried in a vault in a garden belonging to her husband
That must either be a posh alert, or a loony
So I checked... posh alert http://smedmorehouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Smedmore-House.jpg0 -
That feeling you get when a cash machine charges you £3 to get you own cash out - Then tells you to shield your pin so you don't get robbed........
I'll catch up in a bit💙💛 💔0 -
Wow! Thanks for that! It was riveting!
Begs the question, though, of who is his father?
And another riveting story! I'd never heard of that blue condition!
Many thanks!
Found a photo of one of the Fugates.......
This guy's photo keeps popping up if you google the Fugates but he's a boor bloke who tainted his skin using a home-made quack remedy. He died a few years back. I'd read back in the 30s during the Great Depression, some people took a special drink so they would turn blue and could work in freak shows.
I only saw one photo of someone with the Fugate condition. You couldn't see the eyes, but the lips were purple as if bruised. Can't track it down any more and images aren't usually recorded in the Internet Archive so the Wayback Machine can't help. If anyone has better luck, I'd like to know. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Shame!
Still, I suppose it had to happen.(I just lurve spiders!)

I can understand that's frustrating, but those machines tend to be put in by private companies whose sole business is: installing machines to dispense cash ....
I don't believe the banks install them; I don't believe the shop owners hire them. So the business model is to charge the person needing the cash.
It'd have to be life or death before I coughed up £3. I'd rather suffer and go without something ... or even walk 5 miles ... than pay for something I can't have/hold/keep/see.0
