Talking of supermarkets, I needed some heavy duty plastic bags to take the remaining bits of the old fence to the dump. Rubble sacks are expensive, and the broken wood makes holes in them anyway. So, I bought some of Mr T's Bags For Life, which did the job nicely. These now have holes in them. The question for the NPs is whether I should take them back to Mr T and exchange them for new ones?

Tempting .... you're balancing the excitement of "getting away with something/something for nothing" against "looking like a strange and grasping eejit".... you've not used them for their intended purpose, which a smarmy manager would point out to you (VERY smugly) ....

Probably best done 30 miles away from home if you do try it. 60 miles of fuel .... do the calculations.

I'm with Pastures on this one :D and I love silvercar's idea!

Watching that money programme on BBC1. Missed the start as I was down the launderette then hanging the washing out.

This couple, 6 kids, £101k in debt.
    £30k on loans
£71k on store cards and credit.

    They pulled in three 'experts'
    Bankruptcy Advisor: Can't go bankrupt.
Remortgage Broker: Can't due to Early Redemption Fees. Also they might struggle when their current fixed deal ends to get another good deal.
Debt Advisor: "You could be debt free in 3 years if you concentrate hard".

So, if they can clear that much in just 3 years .... it's not really "so much" to them is it.

Another case of: The clueless loaded moaning.

    I wouldn't. :D

They were used for a heavy-duty purpose, which was bound to damage them, not for shopping.
    Doesn't seem fair, really.

As they've got holes in them, why not fill them with compost and turn them into planters? :)

I know people do grow pots in bags but my guess is they are not deep enough for spuds but maybe runner beans would be better as they are happy in the shallow ground and wigwam style could be quite a colourful feature.....

You need to pick quicker.... then it'd be just 5 minutes' work to 'earn' £5.50's worth of strawbs :)

cherries take ages to pick and go off as you pick them...how do they stay looking good in the supers ...I noticed in one store recently ( Intermarche they are everywhere here like Mr. T's) I could see a fine mist being sprayed over the salad section..puffing more than a spraying gizmo....

I've heard of it in the past, but never come across anyone actually saying it.

Or even just flowers! There's a novel idea! :D

Seriously, though, those small trailing tomatoes would work too, and herbs.

Plus the handles would make moving them around easy!

Well, weather's changed. I thought the sunny weather was going to last the day - else I'd have never gone to the launderette.

It's now overcast and cooler, with big black clouds that look like it might rain ...

So I'll now have to keep a careful eye out on the washing and get the airer ready to receive items at short notice.
