I'm sure the plop age chronicles were before your join date!

    Fingers crossed Maggie.

Puppy pulled me over today as we set off for a walk. He tugged and I turned and fell backwards hitting my head on the concrete drive.

Rather stunned and feeling a bit fuzzy I asked a friend to come over, as I did not know if I would feel better or worse later.. I have a large bump, a grazed scalp and a bit of a head ache. Trip to minors at ED, seen very quickly. Nausea had passed by then, so just to have company for next 48 hours, and no alcohol.

OH in Russia, DD will WAH tomorrow, will spend Thursday with a neighbour.
Scalp very tender and rather bloody. not looking forward to washing it.

Need to rethink puppy walking as i am easily knocked off balance. We had to decide not to take the rehomed dog ( a 40kg 3 year old)as he and puppy in combination were going to be too much of a risk for me. Puppy learning to walk to heel but still tuggy. 16 weeks and about 15 kg.

Really sorry to hear about this. I hope that you feel much better this morning?

Have you thought about simply not using a lead at all? There's more of a risk to Puppy that way, but less for you.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Thanks Folks! :) I suspect it's the possible exposure to asbestos that's what got me this outing to Broadgreen! But prob have some kind of lung disease too from the Spirometry results, nice Nurse has asked GP to send me for more testing for that too. 50 years of smoking won't have helped!

I'm joining you Ivyleaf in hoping Generali is OK and I'm thinking of him and sending The Vibes too. But I have a feeling it's Thursday he's seeing his consultant.

Yes, I'm sure he said Thursday too, but I was thinking that by the time I posted it was "about to be Wednesday over there" so I wanted him to see it in good time, as it were :)

I hope your lungs are as ok as poss! OH used to use a cleaning solvent when he was in the army which has now been banned, and it has affected him to an extent and gets short of breath at the slightest exertion, just walking upstairs. But apparently he still has 80% lung capacity and has been told that's acceptable for his age! He's just 63 but was 62 when he had the tests.

The M.E. seems to be kicking in again atm :( I desperately want to do more to help DD2 because she is so tired, but can't because I'm so tired myself

ETA just seen your post Dianne. So very sorry about your DD, she must be so upset x

    Spirit....have you tried a Halti-lead?

I used one with both my dogs, and although it took them a bit of time to get used to them, they really did stop the pulling and jerking forward.

I caught a little bit of Loose Women today and they where talking about adult bullying in the workplace...It just summed up to me what has happened to my Daughter at her work....She has been working in a school kitchen and changed schools to further her experience ibn the cooking world...she use to manage a hospital kitchen crèche two years ago including the shopping and budgeting so she is not a 'L' but turns out the head cook is very bossy which was fine at first daughter worked like a slave...everything is made from scratch...everything...she loved the challenge and enjoyed going to work but she was very aware of the Head Cooks personality querks...Daughter is a peoples person and likes to get involved in what ever she does|(Why I do not know.. she gave up hairdressing when she was so so good at it!!!) Friends mean a lot to her for sure...
Then she had to have all the cancer treatment that went on for over a year...She went back to work only recently and reduced hours where arranged with her upper boss who has mostly been 1st class. The Head Cook got too much for daughter so Upper Boss arranged for her to go to a less hard working kitchen at another school for 6 weeks which came to an end about 3 weeks ago...Head Cooks marriage broke down so she was worse than before and daughter is not up to speed for emotional issues..She is back to her netball group...swims several times a week, serious swimmer and is a great help with the issues she has with the glands all removed from the armpit...She gave in her notice of 4 weeks and I realise now what a Bully that woman is just like they where describing on Loose Women and how it effects so many people not just school bullying which most people relate to.

Saw these remarks on a thread in Discussion Time about the Chilcott Report, and it really made me laugh!

The wry humour on these boards is great!:rotfl:

For dog walking ... remember those things people put babies in? They drop them into a ring with a bum sling in the ring, so their toes just touch the ground ... and there's a lower ring with wheels on ... they can toddle about and because the bottom ring is wider than the top one, they can't fall over.

You need a big one of those :)

There'll be robot dog walkers for sale in the near future... for people who'd like to walk the dog, but really don't want to go out in the rain.

Post Stroke in the hospital gym I was fastened into a giant baby bouncer and walked on a treadmill.:o

We will get to a point where he will be able to walk off the lead in the woods but it will be years before he can be off lead by the road. Conscious that he could put other road users at risk, trees are very unforgiving.

Our first dog was very happy with a halti. It may be a solution for me. Oh and trainer will just have to make it work, I am not prepared to persever with current normal puppy lead. I hurts too much.

I am typing whilst sitting wearing a travel neck pillow. Back of skull too tender for it to touch the back of a chair or headrest. I was considering whether I should wear a cycle helmet. Bruising coming out on other parts too . Along with the strapping I have (stroke related)Helter skelter twist down my arm, along my thumb and forearm and under my foot and up my calf, I look a right state:(

I am going out with friends tonight. DD will give me a lift .Will wear neck pillow in car but in an attempt to salvage my dignity it is not coming in to the restaurant.:)
