Today we had a lovely visit from DD1, who's staying with DD2 ready for the Wake. My only Grandaughter Dora travelled up with her, Grandson Arthur comes tomorrow morning with Dad. Adorable Dora had her first taste of chocolate cake (gluten free!) with her lunch - along with cucumber fingers!Cucumber and chocolate cake! by Maggie, on Flickr
That's a very sweet photo, Maggie. Dora is adorable! (I'm sure I'm not the first to say that.)
We have the same oilcloth, or at least we call it oilcloth. I'm not sure what the correct term is?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

What is this strange thing called?
That's where it went!
We've got storms forecast. No sign yet.0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »The yellow thing's been playing peek a boo since I spotted it .... digital thermometer (go me at £2.95!) says it's 73 degrees indoors. I'll stick the sensor outside in a sunny spot and report that temperature in 5 minutes.
Although it's hiding at the moment....
It'll be a more accurate temperature in the shade - if the sun plays on the sensor directly it'll over-read.0 -
Do you need sunscreen on a cloudy day like today? No sign of the sun at all.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

IN is the box itself, OUT is the probe - on my one I use for the freezer, anyway.
It may take a little time to stabilise, especially the IN reading because the sensor may be being insulated by the casing itself, whereas the OUT sensor on the end of the lead is directly exposed to the air.0 -
Cloudy but not wet here and quite warm.
Horrible drive to pick youngest up from college yesterday, the A14 was flooded in places and the rain was horrendous both on the way up and on the way back.
I actually ended up going to Ipswich twice yesterday, took my brother up earlier to pick Peggy (my old car) up from its MOT, it passed. Result for me doing the trip twice (although the car pick up was from this side of Ippy) was a horrible migraine and the feeling of being completely washed out.
Spoke to soon, sky has now gone really dark!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Stormwatch update:
Still no rain although it looks like we've got some action off the coast which might build into something I guess.
Storm? Yeah ya goose. Storm in a bloody teacup I reckon [as they say in these parts]

Great to see the Poms smash the Wallabies in the Rugby :j:beer:
Work will be fun (for me) on Monday. A little less so for the Aussies.0 -
The lawnmower broke some time ago.
Doozer organised a lady to cut grass for us (if you remember me hiding from her the first week as I hadn't collected dog poop) We went away so she couldn't come recently. On our return, the grass is so high and the drive full of weeds, it looks like no one lives here.
She was due to come on Tuesday again, but the rain has been constant, so the grass is knee high and in full 'bloom'.
I was clearing a lot of stuff inside yesterday after the rain finally stopped and started sneezing. I thought it was dust. Opened all the windows and armageddon started in my nasal cavity.
I don't suffer badly with hayfever so it took me until 11:30am today to realise what's going on.
Went to bed. Doozer just bought me Piriteze. Double streams of wet mucus dripping down the face is not a good look.
This had better work.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
