Oh dear. Hope you had a good day anyway kabayiri.
It was a good Sunday for The Mighty Spuds though. The future's bright, the future's lillywhite.
Thanks Gen. It was good, but the travel was always going to be tiring.
Although DS supports Liverpool, I'm still more of a neutral.
However, my hope for the prem is not neutral. I really hope one of the outsiders like Spurs or Leicester win the title. It's time for a shake up.
Liverpool aren't really a good team right now. Klopp knows this. It was telling that he doesn't trust their £32m summer striker signing!0 -
...
Great result for CityI didn't go but my cousin did. You probably shared a train with him
...
A girl in my son's class was on the same train...but in 1st class; and then on to a private box; followed up by a stay in the Hilton.
We *cough* preferred to rough it in cattle class.
Tbh, the city and liverpool fans got on pretty well I thought. There was some chronic planning and queueing at the return station, and it was funny to listen to both sets of fans break out the Steve G on his derriere song!0 -
My mother was named Alma after a realtive that fought in the Batle of Alma in the Crimean War.
I think she was even less impressed as a bridesmaid when the local paper printed her name as Miss Lama Gxxxxx.0 -

Was all pretty good humoured on both sides; the Liverpool fans who had already bought their "double" T shirts were slightly less happy by the end.0 -
I gave a little smile when I saw they lost, I confess.
To make up for the disappointment of our supine performance against Chelski I had to mention in the office (majority Gooners) that it was good to see that a North London side was likely to win the league this year....I think....0 -
OH could not log into ou joint account tonight. It said there had been failed attempts to reset password and memorable information and the account was locked. He had to ring a number and pass a security check.
Ilogged in to make sure that it was a genuine bank number, it is, a long call has been going on. He has so far been unable to pass the security
check.
The originating problem, the bank tells him, was that his employer has changed their bank detail. He is an account signatory and they have given out his personal account details, password and security details to his finance manager instead of the new business bank details.
How did they manage that? He is still on the phone, having progressed past the fraud operations department.
They give away his personal information. He then has to satisfy their "security", system to proceed. He is reading instructions off the screen back to the guy on the phone who has a different script. He does not look happy.0 -
Banks - shame we can't live without them

Can't lie, it isn't pain free. But you do get used to it/ become less sensitive.
In other news, I mowed the grass for the first time this year. Should probably not have abandoned it so early last year
Glad that's over, think I nearly broke my lawnmower!
Thanks for the info, now deciding what my tolerance for pain is!
The first time I mowed my lawn a couple of years ago, I took great care to ensure the flymo blade was set at its highest level, so as to avoid taking too much off the longish grass. The trouble was, the lawnmower was upside down when I was looking at it ... so when I turned it the right way up, the blade was at its lowest setting and the mower soon started to smell of burningLuckily I realised in time and the mower is still going strong

reed diffusers ...
I quite like those; it's interesting how quickly (or slowly) the liquid can go down. I had a lovely RHS one which I was given as a present, and it took a long time to go down. My most recent one is going down far more quickly and was a very strong scent to start with. I wonder if there's a quality thing going on here. There, had my moan, now going to try and get an hours sleep.Loanranger wrote: »Interesting, PN.
What do NP think about offering drinks to people invited to the house? I think the population falls into one of two camps on this. Those who never offer a cuppa or whatever to workmen and so on and those who always do.
I am in latter camp. It builds a good rapport and a chance to get to know the stranger a little.
My OH is in the former camp.
I think it goes with the E or the I of your personality type. The E being Extravert and the I being Intravert, as in MBTI personality types.
I always offer one; it just seems polite. Don't know if it's a personality type thing - I'm an introvert.0 -
I don't have a kitchen island, or bifold doors (blimey, not even a patio door) or a glass wall, I do however have flat surfaces which appear to scream out to the boys to stick their carp onto, it's like a never ending battle to keep things clear when they are all home.
No island here. And nobody else to blame for the multiple piles of paper which unaccountably appear on every surface available :cool:ukmaggie45 wrote: »elightful doctor
Glad it went so well.ukmaggie45 wrote: »We've had such a lovely sky here this evening. As it got later the south easterly wind dropped, and there were reflections of lights in the river... Should have taken photos earlier, but there you go!Here's the best of the ones I took later.

I really like that photo, it's so colourful and yet restful, evocative! :T0
