So Tesco's, with space for one new product on its bakery shelf, decides to take the Highgrove wholemeal loaf instead of Mr. Hawkins' saffron cake.
How is that down to Prince Charles? I would have thought the blame lies fair and square at Tesco's door, like so many other double-dealings with its poor suppliers.
(Tesco's ethical practices, not, is the reason I won't shop there).
I can't comment on the eviction as we don't know the full facts.
As for the Bona Vacantia funds.....The Prince of Wales does not, however, keep any of the money; instead it is distributed in charitable donations through the Duke of Cornwall’s Benevolent Fund, with a small amount kept in reserve for any future claims on unclaimed estates.
Like I said, the Press will only print stuff that will make a sensationally bad headline, with a bit of twisting and leaving out of facts.(I just lurve spiders!)

In most of Britain, the estates of people who die without making a will, and who have no obvious heirs, go to the Government.
I bet the government doesn't give the money away.0 -

The difference, though, is that for all other estates it's on a published list, weekly. Instantly viewable by anybody/everybody.
There's no published list in Cornwall. At the point where people could investigate it, like they do with the UK list, they can't as there's no list.0 -

Presumably, that is why the Duchy holds some of the money back in case a legitimate claimant does come forward.0 -
