Is doing a 'one off' Charity Gig at Central Hall Westminster on Tuesday. There's still some tickets available if any NP's in or around London are interested.

I don't know that airlines will be one of the most affected sectors. People will still need to fly places, even if we Brexit. Heathrow, Stansted etc May fall slightly in terms of numbers, but as bases for work life would still go on. Though there could be fewer Eastern Europe flights if people from there no longer work here.

One thing that I did hear could change is duty free. You'd get it back for going to Europe, but equally would be able to bring far less back. One unintended consequence could be that it is far harder to drive a white van to Spain, fill it with cigs for their "own use" and drive back and flog them, as the limit would go back to 200. So anyone reliant on black market tobacco should vote remain apparently.

This amused me greatly as it smacked of bringing a freakonomics aspect to the debate.

The main issue at the moment is that an EU airline can't be owned by non-EU nationals, and a non-EU airline also can't fly EU-EU routes (typically EU-its own country, with some exceptions)

Easyjet with huge Italian and Spanish bases (Easyjet Switzerland is legally a different company under separate ownership to the rest of the group) and Aer Lingus's ownership (currently BA I believe, not IAG itself) are rather concerning IMO, and really need to be addressed, as certain staff in certain companies (and externally to those companies through airports) need to know what will happen to their jobs if the situation comes.

Wizz's base at Luton (that isn't crewed from Luton) is also reliant on EU law and therefore in a similar position. I'm sure they could find alternative routes more easily though, largely due to their structure.

Registered HQ of IAG is Madrid, operational HQ London. Is that not enough? If so, couldn't they do similar at Ryanair and Easyjet?

It comes down to a mix of shareholding, operational control etc. It needs to be majority owned and controlled by nationals of the country in question (with the exception of the EU, which is viewed as a single country for this purpouse)

It may be as simple as moving shareholdings around accordingly, it may not is the only answer I can give.

Let's face it .... if we did leave ... it wouldn't overnight cut us off from the entire world, cast adrift.... we're Britain, solid, reliable and trusted. They'd all be keen to cut a deal with us where certain things remain the same and exceptions were allowable/made.

It's not as if we'd be leaving because we're a terrorist nation with a dictator at the helm who wants to use the independence to nuke the rest of the EU before storming in and conquering it.

You may be right, but there's a fair bit of unrest within the EU. If we leave, so may others, and the EU may break up. Hence, they have said that they will not make it easy for us if we leave, so as to discourage others doing the same.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

The issue can be that you can buy a jar of Dolmio at about 69p and shove it in the cupboard.... if/when you want to use it 6-9 months later, there it is....

Compared to having to have bought/got an onion, a carrot, one celery stick and a clove of garlic ... and facing chopping them, then doing a bit of washing up, etc.

    :)

I would state though, I've never done either of those. So far, if I fancy a spag bol I'll get a 70-80p ready meal from a supermarket and nuke it :) I probably eat one a year.

I'm cooking for 4 so generally make a treble batch of ragu. It costs me about $7 (£3.50) including mince to make ragu for 12 meals.
