No pool here either!
Tell you what I do have!
Many, many years ago, I bought an old tin bath, big enough for an adult to sit in, with the idea of making it into a pond. That didn't materialise, so I thought it might be useful for bathing the dog. Tried that once, but too much of a faff.
During that boiling heat wave several years ago, when the temps crept up towards the high thirties, I di actually fill it with water and sat in it for a bit, to cool off, but then decided it was easier to do that in the bath upstairs!
It's still in the garden, under the jungle, collecting rainwater.
Does that count?(I just lurve spiders!)

I bet it would look great as a raised garden bed. Perfect for strawbs or cut-and-come-again salads or toms or herbs.0 -

Except that it is watertight, so would become a bog!
I don't really want to puncture it, in case I decide to use it as a water feature/container/hot weather dip pool!(I just lurve spiders!)

A bath has a plug in it, doesn't it? Even the old ones?
I'm sure an NP a lot wiser than I am will correct me now💙💛 💔0 -

Presumably if you put a load of bricks/rubble in the bottom you could make it so the soil layer effectively started many inches above the bottom of the bath(? no idea, I'm terrible at gardening).0 -

Not a tin bath. Imagine a bath-shaped bucket that you put in front of the fire and filled with kettles and pans of water.
My Dad would be 75 this year if he were still alive and he bathed in one of these as a child and used a thunderbox out the back as a toilet (there was a pot that went under the bed for night-time use).0 -

Yes, Generali, it's like that but longer. I can sit in it with my legs straight. It's called a tin bath, but I think they're made of galvanised steel or something. Anyway, metal, and deffo no plughole! People used to hang them on an outside wall by one of the handles.
Sort of like this.... (I think this one might be a tad bigger than mine...difficult to tell...)
Pastures, even before I damaged my wrists, I couldn't saw straight, and any nails getting hammered would always bend. I pass on the bath to chairs idea, interesting though it be!
If I ever get my jungle cleared, I might well pile rocks around it and make it into a pond, or possibly a bog garden.
Buried under the jungle there is already a mini-bog garden made from a cast-iron chicken feeder!(I just lurve spiders!)

£80-90 on ebay ... maybe more if you researched the actual shape/design/style and thought hard about the description.
It's not in very good condition - it's been in the garden for about 15 years! Some of the galvanisation or whatever has worn off. It doesn't look as good as the one in the picture!
Besides, I'd still like to use it for something!
But while the jungle's there, it's all very academic anyway!(I just lurve spiders!)
