michaels, its an Indesit. Next time by a bosch. Slightly more expensive but should last longer. I wouldn't waste money repairing an Indesit.

Twice I was going to post that, and twice I desisted lest the great boot of Pastures' PoshAlert! came crashing down on my head!:rotfl:

Yes, I agree. I have had a Bosch dishwasher and washing machine for 15years.
(Touch wood) (I hardly dare say this for fear of tempting fate! they are both still going strong and as good as new. But then I look after them; regular cleanings etc.

3years ago, fed up with the money my useless Potterton boiler was costing me every year, I decided to replace it with a new Worcester Bosch one.

To be honest, I don't think I'd consider another make, now.

I have no dishwasher or more accurately, I am the dishwasher.

We're trying to get over the line to buy a house and it's one of many sacrifices we're making.

chris, looks like gladioli leaves to me.
I was hoping an indesit lasting 5 years and a bosch lasting 10 years woulf cost about the same per year. The indes(h)it lasting less than 2 years obviously skews the maths. There is the option of buying a cheap machine with a 4 year warranty for 200 which I am now entertaining. I think bosch now also make cheaper less long lasting machines so I am not sure that all boachs are made equal anymore.

I keep meaning to change the fill from cold to hot, although it is supposed to have a cold feed, then the heat element might last longer and it would be using softened water (under the sink the cold water is hard for drinking.

Cheers - I'll see what I can make of them.

Hehe - reminds me of when I had a combi boiler installed to replace the old one with a header tank, so the hot water was at mains pressure instead of whatever pressure came from a tank one floor up.
It took me several days to learn NOT to turn the kitchen hot tap on as quickly as I had been used to doing - after soaking several shirts and pairs of trousers. :rotfl:

I so envy people with decent water pressure - we have a mains pressure indirect tank which works fine for 23 hours a day when we have decent pressure but not between 6.30 and 8.30 when every other bugg*r in the town is also trying to have a shower when we get slightly more than a trickle.
    I think....

Check prices for white goods on ao.com.

The pain of a cheap machine with a decent warranty is waiting while they inspect, review and then eventually replace. That's before you consider the mess caused when a faulty machine leaks.

Hard water is definitely a contributory factor. And feeding it soft water will save on the costs of dishwasher salt.

(no cat photos, you get a squirrel instead)

Can't remember if I put this up here before, but it's worth a second visit if I did!

You need to look at each picture individually and read what Terri Lea says to get the story. I first came across these on Fotolog a LONG time ago. It appears I even have a comment on the first photo on Flickr! :rotfl: I don't know what happened to Terri Lea, so gifted. I should go back and check out my fotolog account...

    I don't have a pool or a dishwasher.....

My tumble dryer is 20 years old this month, for the last 17 ish years, the door has been held shut when in operation by an empty quality street tin and a paint mate.

I have been making use of cheap labour today in the garden, had Josh out trimming back the rosemary and curry plants that were taking over my garden path. Tomorrow he will earning his dinner by mowing the lawn....

Tonight the two older boys went to an alumni night at their old 6th form, Josh went because friends of his were going, James went because he is hoping to do his teacher training there and wanted to network. Networking went well, he has been invited to come in and speak to the one who co-ordinates it plus James was mentioned in the speech the head of 6th form made to the attendees about him coming back to teach at the school next year and then introduced to current students as Mr (insert our surname here) where he gave them a short lesson/advice session on how to do something.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I get a postal vote as disabled so can't make it to the polling booth. Though recent years it's been in the local pub... The Victoria... presumably because it's on Victoria Road. But it's much more interesting than it appears! It used to be called The Aigburth Arms, and it was where Lister in Red Dwarf was found as a baby in a cardboard box under the pool table!

Anyway, I voted already. OH will visit the Eggy Arms on referendum day. I'll have to ask him if there's still a pool table there... Though I guess it might change a lot between now and the 22nd Century, so presence or absence of pool table there now isn't important. ;)
