I didn't hit him, I swerved about 2' from his passenger door .... so I wasn't knocked off physically... if I'd not swerved I'd have hit his rear wheel/arch.

I've nothing to say ... no idea of the time, no idea what car except "white, newish" and no description of him/her as he was on the far side to me and it happened so fast and I can't "recognise" faces.

I'd just be wasting police time. I doubt he's ever done it before ... maybe his wife's head was in his way and he didn't see me until his wife said "You nearly hit her!"

I was in shock, for most of the next hour in fact. Nothing of what occurred after that point was sinking in to be honest. I'm a rubbish witness.

You wouldn't be wasting police time. Next time he might seriously hurt someone or worse.

In all seriousness PN, did you get his numberplate? It is an offence to leave the scene of an accident without stopping or leaving details. And mad to do it with witnesses.

Hope you aren't too stiff tomorrow.

My nephew was knocked off his bike by a hit and run about 6 weeks ago. He is a forty year old military man who cycles at international competitive level. He had half a dozen broken ribs and significant gravel burns. Fellow riders got the make, colour and half the reg of the car. The police were not interested at all.

Bike a write off but insurers will pay up, he is mending but it is frustrated at how long it is taking.

Nobody thinks you are a hypochndriac, PN. You have suffered a very nasty shock and it wasn't your fault. Could you get it all checked over tomorrow at docs, just to be on the safe side?

Eek, that sounds so frightening PN...and painful.

Well, we made it there and back, took mum along with me as my confidence is still a little eek on the long trips and just in case I need someone to take over the driving (she is a young 73 thank goodness apart from her arthritis). We had to make a mad dash into Cambridge services though as otherwise I would have had a lovely puddle on the passenger seat, mum only just made it (I had to drop her off before finding a parking space, she really was that desperate).

On arrival at Josh's halls we discovered that he hadn't really packed that well, so spent the next 3 hours trying to get things sorted. Had virtually packed the car when I found his very large cymbal bag hiding under his bed, so lots of bits and pieces back out of the car to fit the bloody thing in and then repack.

The journey there and back was actually pretty good, no hold ups or traffic jams although it got quite busy at times but I am absolutely shattered now...tomorrow is going to be a day of not doing anything at all.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hold on ... I've only lived around this way about 4 years, not got round to registering with one yet! :)

I'll be fine. I'll live. You only go to the Docs if you think you're dying.

I think, to be honest (wussy), I'm more "traumatised" than hurt. I'd be useless if something horrible really did happen, I'd be one of those "never got over it" types :)

Pastures, get to a local docs, as it'll give you chance to register when you are there.

Hope you're feeling better this morning.

Maggie, so sorry for you and your OH. Hugs for him too.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

There's the outside chance he just thought "Ah, that fit young lady of about 21 will just bounce and be fine".

    That must be it! :D
