I didn't want us to marry in The Church as it seemed hypocritical to me but I always said I had no problem with the Generalissimos being raised in The Church as long as I wasn't expected to convert or anything.
The Boy has taken to it very enthusiastically: he has read a pretty full version of the Bible written for kids twice of his own volition. The Girl is a little more circumspect about it.I think....0 -
I'm still trying to work this out.............
Your OH was somewhere in Europe
The taxi driver tells her to wait a minute
He comes back with a rose
........ and gives it to her?
I's very confoosed.

As a woman in a taxi on my own, I would find it decidely unnerving. Unless they were already known to each other, when I would find it just a little bit creepy. If you both already know the taxi driver I would just find it odd.
But CK is in the trade, so maybe that is what he instructs all his drivers to do???I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. We are similar. DW is very keen on religion, whereas I'm not. I'm surprised Mrs Gen left you to make all the christening arrangements. I would never be given such responsibility. I am allowed to take the bins out, though.
OH and I are quite religious, DS1 is ambivalent, DS2 is aggressively agnostic. Yet his long term GF is a relatively religious christian. Just a new audience to continue his anti religion arguments.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Have you moved? Your most recent weather reports seem entirely inconsistent with our weather.
Uber rep points?
Another family on the same model, although I seem to be the only one to think the bible has something to say about being nice to other people which is a bit ironic.
I always enjoyed Douglas Adams's reference to Jesus, "2,000 years after they nailed someone to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to each other for a change".
I guess I'm an Adamsist if anything.0 -

No, still here. I don't know if it is something to do with living on the top of a hillside, rather than on a high plateau (which is how I think about where you live), is that I can look out of the windows on one side if my house and it can be raining but sunshine out of the other side. Before anyone asks, it is not because my house is so large that it spans two climate zones either.
I left home the other day and drove to St Albans to do some shopping. It was a lovely sunny day so I left my coat and cardigan at home. By the time I got to Harpenden to meet friends for lunch it was snowing. Mad.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Glorious here yesterday, not a hint of rain at all.
Gorgeous here at the moment too.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Nothing like a good dollop of fear mixed with some hate and a sprinkling of recrimination for keeping the masses controlled and doing their bidding!
In fact, come to think of it, I'm surprised that this series of threads hasn't been shut down yet!

I was the one with a faith, ex hubby was not. All 3 boys have been baptised and I have ended up with one agnostic and 2 atheists. Weirdly, eldest's philosophy teacher (eldest is very good at that subject) said James was the most Christian like non Christian he had ever met.
Step back to my great grandmother (paternal side) and she had Jewish parents, they anglicised (even their surname) after being persecuted, fleeing and arriving in this country. We made it! Aggressive agnostic. Isn't that an oxymoron? I thought the whole point of agnosticism is not having a very strong view one way or the other. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
