What are the NPs backup strategies? Do you use cloud storage such as dropbox, adrive, box, MEGA, or one of the cloud aggregator services? and backup software such as TimeMachine or Carbon Copy Cloner or windows equivalent?
I do a daily backup to USB. Weekly to a hard disk in the machine. Anything I'm working on, I copy a new version to gdrive every hour or so, or simply email it to myself.
Doozergirl, if you emailed the file to someone the email with attachments should be in your sent items folder on outloook. Just open it and copy the attachments. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I back up photos / vids / docs to microsoft cloud - about a TB, music and movies I'm afraid would get lost if there aren't multiple copies. I did also have all the photos on a-drive but I think they dropped the free service recently?
Also if stuff comes or goes via email including attachments it will be stored by google / mail.comI think....0 -

Time machine to an external hard drive makes a physical backup every hour or so and I also backup key documents and contacts to icloud and a webmail service.
Plus a few old external drives with archived previous PC contents and movies, music, etc on them.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

External hard drive here as well. I have some stuff in the cloud, but nothing confidential. Even photos don't go in the cloud. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Just watched Points of View, which asked about the BBC and what you'd cut/keep. So I thought I'd ask the NP.
I'd cut:
BBC3/4
BBC Parliament (if we need to keep it, stick it on the radio)
Scale back on web
Very highly paid presenters, get in promising new talent instead or put in pay ceiling
Keep:
Sporting events of national importance (eg FA Cup, London Marathon, Olympics, Football/Rugby World Cups, 6 Nations etc)
Eurovision (natch)
Panorama/Horizon and other documentaries
Popular programming: Eastenders (I don't watch it but get that others do),
Programming that pays its way as it is sold on (eg Dr Who)Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'd dump the sport unless it pays its way.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I always get my students to email work to themselves as a backup. It's such a simple strategy that it reveals who hasn't done the work at all, as their excuses have to become very baroque and convoluted. It also rarely goes wrong. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I thought that the BBC was a fantastic social invention. It upsets me that its resemblance to a socially-owned service makes it extremely politically/economically incorrect in this modern era where we obsess with costs and ignore value. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I know they have radio stations.
That's my lot.
I watch telly that I discover is on "now" and I like. I'm not aware of which channel things are on.0
