Are you sure it isn't just that he has flounced off twitter in a huff again for a bit?

Do any of the NP know about 'good cholesterol' supplements? I had a health screen and apparently although my total cholesterol is within (just) recommended limits my ldl to hdl balance is all wrong (not surprising as I don't like fish or avocado and don't eat nuts because of DS's allergy). So the advice was supplements but googling to see which was a good one firstly came up with a study that said omega 3 increases prostate risk without conferring any cardio benefits and then a whole list of sites selling their own formulation and dissing all others for reason of impurities, heavy metals, poor processing etc.

This has now left me none the wiser about whether the supplements are a good idea, whether I should take a fish oil supplement or an omega 3 (+6, +9) supplement and whether the supermarket ones at one tenth the price are as good as any....

This is my problem. My cholesterol levels are ok overall but the balance is wrong. Genetic,Cannot really be fixed, no supplements. I eat oily fish a lot (a love of rollmop herrings). Take statins.

statins worry me...cause pain in muscles that made me give them up...my cholesterol has lowered since living here in France,do not know if feeling relaxed and happy makes any difference...my weight has increased bigtime which does happen and I blame my thyroid condition hashimotos a family link for sure...my doctors says mostly caused by eating too much...guess a bit of both;)
the top nurse at our Bexhill surgery had a family problem with high cholesterol and she stated she would never ever take statins...but they have been a life saver for some...regards Dianne

OH is in Russia this week. I am here at home. Today we have had men in putting some fencing up. I have made them coffee, at the end of the job i paid them. So I am certain they knew I was in.

I have had a whatsapp exchange with oh tonight .I sent him news about the fencing. he wrote back that he knew all that and even had pictures. The contractor had been communicating with him throughout the day, so he knew of the workarounds for the underground pipes and cables, and had agreed them.

    i am dumbfounded.

Surveyor for a window company asked me to get 'the builder'.

I told him I was the builder. He asked for 'the real builder'.

    I don't suffer fools gladly.

    My thoughts are:

    - Use more olive oil in cooking
    - Have a slice of peanut butter on toast each morning at work or keep some nuts in your drawer as a afternoon snack
    - Not worry about it and simply follow the best healthy eating advice: Eat mostly plants, not too much

I once had an interesting (and quite amusing for me) conversation with an insurance salesman who had cold called.

    Went something like this....

"Can I speak to your husband?"
"Can I ask what it is about, anything financial, I deal with"
"I'm not sure you would understand, it is about life insurance"
    "Oh I deal with that"
"Can you just get your husband please"

    Call hubby to the door

"Hi, can I ask about what life insurance you have please?"
"Er, ask the wife, she deals with things like that"
"How much do you currently pay for life insurance"
"Begger if I know (he actually used a ruder word), the wife deals with all that, talk to her"
"This would be a little difficult for her to understand, tell me, who is your current life insurance provider and what are their benefits"
"Are you not listening to me, the wife does that and I am Beggered (again a ruder word was used) if I know who the beggering hell we use or what their beggering benefits were"

Cue lots of bluster from insurance salesman and hubby informing him he was being a little unfair to the females of the species as I understood financial matters far better than any male he knew, then he shut the door.

I was sat in the kitchen laughing my head off....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
