Could you download a 'mosquito' mp3 and by mistake leave it playing on your car stereo?
    I think....

I've no idea what that is/means.

My car has a cassette player.

I'm asking for a posh alert here, but some newer cars have aux-in ports, to connect the radio and phone. My last 4 have had it.

It's a high pitched sound which only youngsters are supposed to be able to hear. Think my body thinks I am still a youngster as the noise drives me mad when they have it switched on during the school holidays at my local Morrisons.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I have absolutely no idea what that even means.

If I'm in the car the phone's not going to be used. It'll be inside a sock, in my bag, on the floor. Not going delving for that when I'm driving!

My hearing kicks in at 14kHz according to this which is fascinating:

    I suspect that a cheap MP3 player won't reproduce 20kHz sounds.

Youngest is looking at a university in Scotland....Scotland! How the blooming nora would we get his things up there and back, it's miles away.

I thought the system was different there. Both on tuition fees and on entry requirements and 4 year course because they only have one year in the sixth form and finish after 'highers' that are equiv to AS levels not full A levels. I may be years out of date.

In practical terms, you fly rather than drive/ train. Although that sounds expensive, you save up Avios or some other reward scheme and because it is so far away they come home less often.

I would discourage. Don't they realise it's cold up north?

A bit like when dd1's friend and then the friend's younger brother both opted for Aberystwyth. Her parents groaned, it was a sort of three-day expedition to get their stuff there and back.

Would it be any good trying to dissuade him from choosing one so far away? The Scottish universities always had a great reputation, but they are starting to struggle now because their funding has been cut so much in order for the SNP to keep their promise not to bring in fees for Scottish students. (This is according to a lecturer in a Scottish uni who is moving to an English one because it's felt by Higher Education staff up there that our system is now better-funded and therefore better for both lecturers and students.)
