I think it's cool. What a superb piece of marketing by the tourist board.

I'm not sure what I'd like to ask a random
    swedish person.

18,000 calls since yesterday. Hopefully, the people making them were chemically balanced.

The latest call was made from India. I wonder if it was that bloke who called me several times recently and who didn't believe me when I said we didnt have a computer in this house.:D

I love it. It's lateral thinking and very original. All the more so in that Sweden's not the most obvious choice for a holiday what with them having worse weather than the UK.

They're a very switched-on people. Always amazed me how when I used to go to the beach on the med, you could distinguish the brits from other north europeans due to the fact that loads of people from the UK would turn lobster and people from Scandiwegian countries would tan.

Doubt there's a genetic reason for it, expect they're just not halfwits and can pace themselves.

I remember everyone saying 'oh, Russia's cold', without realising that the Georgian border (which neighbours Russia) is less than 250mi long before you're in Turkey.

In fact, Georgia could be an amazing holiday destination for Europeans/Russians, and it seems that the government has missed out on a massive marketing opportunity.

A country smaller than Scotland has mountains (winter skiing/summer resorts), beaches (summer, one city is full of casinos, again making it year-round) and history, whilst being on the border of 3 continents, making it an ideal Emirates-style hub.

Talking of missed opportunities, I'd have thought that BA from Stansted would be advertising 'Oh, look, book with us, we're more expensive than Ryanair, but when you get the bag/food taken into account, we're a lot cheaper on the same route'

    Unfortunately not, it would seem.

CK I think there are some amazing countries in Europe that aren't marketed here.

When we were watching the Maltese round of Eurovision, they showed an amazing advert for holidays in Slovenia. It looked drop dead gorgeous, yet I've never seen it here.
