The block of flats I am in, which has within the last 2 years had the insulation added to the outside, had a stay put policy. They also removed the central fire alarm and put individual ones in each flat.
Luckily, I am on the 1st floor and can jump out if necessary!Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

hi guys I have no idea what I'm doing on here so please bear with me if im being silly and posting in the wrong places.
I was just wondering if you could help me with some car insurance information.
I've been trying to insure my car for around 2 weeks now but the prices that keep coming up are too high.
I'm classed as unemployed due to a disability however my disability does not effect my driving in anyway!
When I put in that I'm unemployed due to disability the cheapest price i can find is £440 but then if i change my employment status to house person it goes down by £70!! This is with the same insurer.
I don't see a difference here in my circumstances between the two as I personally would class myself as a house person.
I could understand if my disability made me more likely to be in an accident etc but it doesn't...
I would just like some advice on what to do because it feels a bit discriminatory to me and it doesn't seem fair that £70 has been added because of something that in no way effects my driving.
Any advise you can give me would be very much appreciated.
Thanks everyone0 -

You'd probably be better off posting the question here;

It seems odd that once you mention it you find out about others who have suffered a similar loss.
I am determined not to fall into to the stigma and talk about this and raise as much awareness as possible.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

That's so true. Only by talking about it and raising awareness can you let other sufferers know they are not alone, and that there is help.
Depression is a terrible illness, terrible. If there is a hell on Earth, then depression is one type of hell.
It is doubly sad when it hits someone so young.(I just lurve spiders!)

Crumbs. It looks like history might be repeating itself.
If it is, then heads should definitely roll.
I think lots of blocks of flats have a 'stay-put' policy.
I had a slight sense of deja vu when I woke up this morning. Although clearly it is too soon to say whether there are any similar factors involved. Other than the simple fact that tower blocks can be flippin dangerous if a fire takes hold.
Grenfell looks to have been a lot worse. It seems to have just gone off like a firework. I really don't understand how that can be allowed to happen.0
