Anything Star Trek! (Except "Enterprise"; I never got into that. It was all fights and skirmishes and got boring).

Voyager was great! I shall enjoy watching it again

I liked Enterprise as well as TNG and Voyager. I never got into DS9, though. DS is trying to get me enthused about it now.

Mine were 11 (almost 12) 13 (just) and 16 (just) when the NP first started, they are now 19, 20.5 and 23.5!

I just checked back to part one to find out when it started. It was 27th November 2009 - two weeks after "the accident". I hadn't realised that was when it was. My kids were 9 and 6.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I loved the original series and TNG even more and then Voyager. DS9 was desperately poor. How that got umpteenbrazilion seasons while Flashforward got just one is one reason why I think modern TV is a conspiracy by red China/ martians / the aliens from TRAPPIST54321 or whatever.;)

I did quite like DS9, especially the mystical bits about the wormhole and the Founders. And of course, we got a permanent shapeshifter on the the staff which made for some interesting scenarii!

However, there were a few episodes that were rather tedious, mostly the fights and skirmishy ones.

The Ferengi were annoying..... wonder why? :D

Weirdly, youngest started watching Next Gen two days ago! I've always said that was the best one, closely followed by Voyager.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hehe, I checked back too, my memory isn't that great....strange to think that when I started posting on here, James hadn't even taken his GCSEs and now he is about to finish his degree, especially bearing in mind that he did an extra year in 6th form and an extra year at university (whilst he was beggering about changing his mind).

    Doesn't time fly.

DS1 was in 2nd year of uni and DS2 was in gcse year (yr 11). Does seem an age ago.

It took me a while to realise that the accident was so recent and also that your kids had been in the car.

I've got to be honest and say that that's a really good plus about their membership. I hate having to change accounts so I don't have to start paying extra so the company can use me to subsidise new customers in some freaky pyramid system.

Is it too much to ask that somebody just gives you good value and sticks with it so you remain a loyal customer?

    I feel very old-fashioned just writing this.:D

It comes as no surprise that PN has saved well over £100 getting a new insurance quote for her car.

Every year, for the last few years, I have applied for a new policy from the company I have been with for 30+ years. It's always at least £100 cheaper than just renewing the old policy with them, despite all the extra costs involved for them. They used to give a loyalty discount to long-standing customers, but that's old-fashioned, apparently.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I had my recent experience where the insurance company spotted I wasn't a new customer despite doing a new customer quote and wanted nearly 100 more for a policy starting on my renewal date than an identical policy starting the day after.... DKs are 12, 11 and 8 (DD1, DD2, DS). They get phones when they go to secondary school. Don't watch much star trek but remember at one point found every story being set on the 'holodeck' allowing whatever plot they wanted felt too contrived.
    I think....

It took me a while to feel ready to talk about it online, and even then I was deliberately vague about some details for quite some time.
