    It all gets very confusing.

It is ... which is why most don't do things....

It's all a scandal in my eyes - it's a constant churn of comparing, reducing, deals, bundles, offers, cashbacks .... because all the companies leapt onto the bandwagon ... and websites make money from referrals ... and the likes of you and I just lose entire days pondering the confusion ....

Why doesn't somebody just sell something plain :)

This is why I still have my old mobile with buttons and no internet, because of the brain-pain of working out which would be the best deal for me, given that I'd like an iPhone 6 as part of the package and a monthly account. I used to have an annual account, but 02 stopped doing that. Then there's all the roaming charges and stuff.

My broadband supplier has just started doing a mobile tariff, and they are offering a 'deal' to existing broadband customers, but they only do sim-only, and I haven't got round to working out whether that's what I want. They aren't offering a new phone either.their coverage doesn't seem to be better than 02's, either.

I hate the way prices include things you don't want, or feel you're "paying for somebody else to have a free ride". I think the insurance I bought has a free 2-for-1 at cinemas for a year.... no need for that, I'd rather have a few quid off. And Autoaid that I looked at has "free spouses/legal partners". I think there's also £1000 of audio equipment covered in the car (car's worth not more than that, audio equipment is a bog standard radio).

You just feel you're paying for things you don't want/can't use all the time.

Re bank accounts where you pay monthly, I think they mostly hang their offer on free travel insurance .... something I've never had in my whole life!

I just looked at the N/Wide - and it's all about "families"... so several people benefitting. Additional warranty on household goods, that I don't have and I never buy any warranty for those in any case.... free overdraft, I never have/use them .... commission free cash withdrawals abroad - I've never been abroad ....

In short: it's not my lifestyle - and, even if it were, there's "just me" so it'd be hard to find it a great deal.

The main dealer I use for servicing the car gives free breakdown recovery with every service. No doubt its built into the price, but it is one less thing to think about.

The bank account I have also includes breakdown cover and the cost of the bank account more than covers the annual travel insurance and mobile phone insurance that would cost more elsewhere.

My servicing is quite "cheap" and I have it done just once, when it's MoT'd. They have some fixed package that I should sign up for - £388 for 3 services, 3 MoTs and some other random stuff I don't want/need... although the 3 services/3 MoTs would show me a slight discount over paying them annually.

It's dire isn't it ....I wasn't watching telly, it was on - and that came on - their accents/voices irritated me so I flicked now to King Tut (channel 5 or 6).

I never know what's on until I've missed it.

    Ooh! Thanks for the tip!

I'd hidden a load of channels I never use, and that was one.....(I don't like horror films!) so I un-hid them, found it, and caught some of that episode....... and it's repeated at 9.00 tomorrow morning, so I've set my recorder for the whole series!

Anything Star Trek! (Except "Enterprise"; I never got into that. It was all fights and skirmishes and got boring).

Voyager was great! I shall enjoy watching it again

A bit strange that they class it as horror, though! Poetic licence, I suppose!

So, the Star Trek series are ended, the Stargate series are ended. There's now a big hole.
We want a new series, you peoples!

I liked Stargate Universe, but the US company panned it. Big mistake. It had massive scope.

Did anyone watch a US series called "Invasion"?

I had to google it to find the year.... it was 2005!

    It was very, very good.
It depicted an alien invasion that was pretty much how a successful alien invasion would occur. Not with spaceships and death-rays etc. but with a subtle invasion of bodies that clones them, improves them, but retains the person's personality, memories, everything. The person is just the same, only, somehow, healthier!
Seemingly symbiotic at first, like mitochondria :D, the invading life-forms slowly begin to demonstrate a more sinister side..............

It was riveting, but got pulled after one (long) season.

It was very well done, and had lots of scope...... in fact, I wanted so much to know what happened next, that I went looking to see if it was based on a set of books, so that I could read them, but it wasn't.

Big, big mistake. So annoying, when there's so much carp that runs and runs.
    I've never forgotten that series.

Better than "Lost", which went on too long anyway, and better than "Under the Dome" too.

It annoys me when that happens. I read a book called Flashforward about how everybody experiences an a few minutes of the future simultaneously. They made a TV series of it but cancelled it after one season. I would have liked to have known where it was going.

Mind you there used to be several series which never had an ending like Lost in Space or Land of the Giants or for that matter Voyager where you never found out if the protagonists got back to Earth.

On a more prosaic note, I've been with autoaid for donkeys years; it would take a lot to make me switch it away.
