I've always got 1-2 tins either in the cupboard, or about to be bought. What I call my "instant dinner" stash of tinned meals that are "a bit more than just beans on toast".

I think you'll find thousands of people across the country still eat this on a regular basis... :)

We've been feeding the mutt dog food from James Wellbeloved, recently. It comes in a pouch and looks really quite yummy.

60p a pouch, but they are quite small and I think you'd need 2 or 3 pouches for a person to feel full. By the time you have factored the number of pouches in, you can get a standard ready-meal for less, but I'm not sure which would be more nutritious? The mutt gets really excited about them.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Whenever I've tasted dog food, the overwhelming impression was one of a lack of seasoning. Very bland. Too bland.
Also, I found that the delicious meaty smell wasn't reflected in the taste either.

Maybe with the addition of herbs and black pepper, it might be more palatable?

I was standing behind a woman at the till the other day and my eye was caught by a large tin she had there ... it sounded tasty ... Lamb something or other - then I realised ... I was reading a dog food tin! But it did sound nice :)

Tomorrow I am going to a wedding.

This morning I realised that I no longer fit into the dress I have been wearing to all weddings, 90th birthday parties, ordinations, retirement parties, work Christmas parties and other such occasions (what I think of as "a dress but not an evening dress" occasions) for years (25.5 years in fact - I wear my clothes until they can't be worn any more). So I've been shopping. I got this, and a navy jacket to wear over it and an appropriate garment with suitable civil engineering to go under it and make it hang right. Also a necklace and some earrings.

ETA It is stretchy (so I can eat as much as I like without bursting out of it) and has no fastenings (unlike the old one which had to be zipped up the back). This one just pulls over the head, so there is no need for someone else to do me up at the back. Very handy now I'm single. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Very nice. Looks similar to Phase Eight dresses, if you ever want something else.

Thanks for the tip. We'll see if I can make this one last as long as the last one, but eventually I'll need another... ;)

Does "elsewhere" still exist? I am planning to get someone to take a pic of me wearing it at the wedding. (I am doing the online dating thing - not with any notable success so far, but you never know - and am feeling guilty that my most recent pic on the dating website dates back to when I joined it the first time round - in 2010!!) So I post a pic of me in it if there was somewhere that only genuine NP would be able to see it.

Nice dress. I had a couple with necks like that when I was about 20.
