I ve just had phone call from them . Lady was very friendly. She mentioned ipad competition . I said , that I am buying my newspapers in my corner shop and I am happy with that.

I got a call too this morning from the same number. She asked me where I saw/heard about the competition. I did not mention MSE but did say a friend told me. Well MSE is my friend

I had the phone call this afternoon, she was very pleasant, mentioned about the Ipad comp I had entered which is closing in a few days and wished me well.
She mentioned subscriptions and asked if I bought the paper and I said I do but usually buy it from my local newsagents. She didn't try and hard sell or push it any further and we said goodbye.
So if you want to get them off your back just answer the call, be pleasant and hopefully it should all end well. Growing old is unavoidable. However, growing up is still optional.0 -
Me too today - he started going on, and I said 'is this about a Times subscription?', he said yes, and to check numbers, etc... and I said not interested, thanks. All very pleasant. Blocked the number - but not sure if that means if I ever win with them that I won't get the call lol!

Got the call today, so that means I'm a member of the MSE times Club (yay) lol.
I just asked if it was about a subscription, she said yes, and I said that I didn't need one, thanks.
Quite painless - but annoying that I didn't win anything. Never mind.
