Sky and no Freeview/TV

Hi, I have been trying to do comparisons to change my TV, broadband and phone package from sky. Whilst doing this it has become evident that when sky did their initial installation they cut the lead from our terrestrial tv aerial, is this normal? Because of this I am lacking the confidence to bluff Sky into a better price deal because I cannot go elsewhere as i do not have an aerial (well there is one on the roof but the lead has been cut) Can anyone offer any advice please

Hi,
you don't need an aerial for broadband, though you do need a phone line.
If you cancel Sky tv you will still get the freesat channels.
You could run a cable from your aerial and then get freeview channels.0 -
Or tell them you're getting a Freesat box. You can have a recorder secondhand for under £100 by now I'm sure. It'll plug into the satellite cables that go into the Sky box.0

No, it's not 'normal', There's no connection between the two. But reconnecting the cut cable is not exactly a major job.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

That's just it we won't get regular tv channels because they cut the aerial? Every company I go to ask if we have an Aerial as you need one for Talk Talk etc0

You don't need an aerial for sky but they shouldn't have cut it!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

I once had our aerial cable cut by a neighbour who then connected it to his own television!!!
Reconnecting the aerial is not a difficult or costly job regardless of who cut it originally0 -

it won't matter who you go to, if you want freeview channels you will need to get your aerial cable sorted, and get a freeview box.0
