I have just received the first attempt at communication from the claimant's representative Gladstone solicitors. It was an email from a woman named Phoebe McClean.

@ OP - please clarify the name of the parking company as you edited your opening post .
This would be the first claim I have seen with UKPC and Gladstones - UKPC are issuing court claims but are using SCS - part of LPC law.
Additionally I see you have edited the reference numbers with 'PM' on the claim form. Those are not typical reference numbers for UKPC charges but are relevant for PCM for instance with 8 numerals after the letters..
Gladstones do issue claims on behalf of PCM0 -
OH MY GOD. What a huge mistake. I googled parking management control as soon as I had received the claims form and the first link was UKPC. I'm a !!!!ing idiot for messing that up. You are 100% correct. It is PCM I'm dealing with. The thread title will be changed immediately. Thankfully the defence form is unaffected.
@4consumerrights I'm so glad you pointed that out
Edit: Sorry I seem to have missed your post Mad Coupon. Okay I understand and have also read the threads you re-posted. Will update this when I get my DQ.0 -
Quick update on the case. Got another email from them stating that they will continue with the claim and that the DQ on the claimant's side has been completed. They have especially requested that the claim be made only through paper and no hearing. Should I comply? Would this method to resolve the dispute be disadvantageous to myself? Also would it be wise to attempt mediation by offering a total of £100 to settle the case completely to strengthen my position in court if they were to deny it?0

No. Specifically refuse.Would this method to resolve the dispute be disadvantageous to myself?
Yes. Several PPCs try this and we would say an defendant is best insisting on a hearing so they can put forward their evidence and not run the risk of a Judge glancing through a pile of stuff about the Beavis case and just finding in favour of the parking company because they are a parking company...Also would it be wise to attempt mediation by offering a total of £100 to settle the case completely to strengthen my position in court if they were to deny it?
Your position is not strengthened by any offers or discussions at Mediation because you can't mention it/offers later in court, it is separate and another poster reported it as pointless and aggressively set on trying to get them to pay up, the other week. Read his experience:

Thanks for your reply mad-coupon. Your help is very appreciated at this point. Should I refuse the request through the directions questionnaire and do I need to contact the claimant directly too ?0
-
You should do so in the Directions Questionnaire.
And as you have had an email telling you that they've asked for it to be heard on the papers I would also email back, basically asking if they think you were born yesterday?! Tell them you've submitted your DQ and you are NOT be agreeable to the case being heard on the papers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes I have sent an email back saying that I strongly refuse their request. I'm also in process of completing the DQ as required.0

Hello, I'm still alive and unfortunately the court claim has been taken to the final stage.
The court hearing is at approximately 10 am today. I stayed up late to make sure I had all the 'ammunition' I need. Wish me luck.

Unfortunately it is colchester county court. I am currently in the waiting room. They send a random chap called Mr Cross down whose name I have never heard of since the claim started so I will see if I can challenge his right of audience.0
