To get help, you will need to start your own thread, but before you do, search "Miah" and click on some of these.

Hi I've have 3 parking fines from UKCPS on private land an no yellow sticker on the window but have had them through the post, came onto your website an was told to ignore them, but now we have had a solistor letter sayin if we don't pay within 14 days we will have to pay court costs. I would be grateful of any help regarding this matter!!

So you came here and instead of reading the current threads from 2016, you actually read OLD threads from 2012 or older then?

Why? That's not research. We have not told people to ignore these for THREE YEARS!

Wise up and start your own thread about this letter, here, in 2016 rather than reading old threads.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No the law re parking on private land did not change then, it last changed in 2012. That date of 4.11.15 was re a Supreme Court decision which you need to know about and you do need to respond robustly to Miah and read other threads about this letter.

Search 'Miah' (or the name of the solicitor in your case, if different) and you will find other useful RECENT threads but please don't post on them. You need to start your own thread - after reading others please, you need to be more clued up - as it sounds like you may get a court claim.

  • Hi,

I have dilligently stuck to my guns in not paying my UKCPS parking fine - however like most once the solicitor letter comes you think, hmmmmm.

Effectively my story is much the same however, the fine I got was at my place of work, we have a small car park directly outside of our building so my company pays for additional spaces across the road from the building. We are or we have designated rows of bays where staff from our organisation are allowed to park. We have been given badges to display in our windows to prove we are allowed to park there.

When we begun working at said company back in November there were no signs to direct us where to park only an instruction to park at the back. A few of us have been issued with tickets and pursuing letters detailing a fine increasing upon non payment.

At the time of my alleged offence it was below freezing and mine along with everyone elses windscreen were frozen solid. Having now read one of the blue signs all over the car park it makes it clear that the badge can only be displayed in the front windscreen of which would obscure the view of my badge from even the most shrew detective.

At the time there were no signs to direct us - now there is. Is this in any way different to the other disabled bay or parking gym fines other people have experienced??

I apologise if this wasn't a beginning of my own thread as directed by many a forum guru however i have searched through pages and pages to find a new thread button and could only find this.

I might add the car park was not full at the time nor is it ever and i cant see how a now potential £185 ia justifiable considering they lost no revenue as a result nor did my parking impact on any other drivers or cause any stress.

Please advise if this situation is in anyway different.
