We don't recycle at all, our bin collections are 2 weekly.
Week 1, everything goes in a bin bag and taken the local tip daily.
Week 2, everything goes in rubbish bin and taken away by the bin man.
Never heard a peep from the local council.0 -

That's a lot of aggro...
Is it some sort of protest?0 -

How difficult is it?. If you were paid £10 per week to use it I expect you'd find it usable.0 -
I tried it for about the first 3 months and it was not for me.
It was indoors, as my outdoor bin area is not outside a quick backdoor, I dont have one of those. My bins are down the end of a long drive.
It had the special bags and they leak. There was mould on the leaks. It stank, and this was after 5 days or so and not full yet, so not ready to
go outside.
I give peelings to rabbit, meat bits to neighbours cat, and compost teabags and few other bits. The small amount of other stuff eg, what you scrap off plate before dishwasher goes in bin.
This suits me and my routine.
I wont do any different unless I am going to get checked and fined, so that was what I was checking on the forum - if anyone had heard of it happening.
I know the rules are strict in some parts of Europe and they live in flats mainly, the whole block of flats is fined as they cannot identify the communal culprit, so of course most people comply out of fear and not wanting trouble with neighbours,
but then again, most of them have a balcony outside kitchen door for it all - but you do things when there is a consequence.
If I am just 'asked' to do something, I can decide yes or no.0 -
Our LA provides a small internal caddy to take the bags, and a large caddy to go outside, so we don't need to go out with single items.
Even without the internal caddy, I'm sure we could manage with an old food container, build up a few items in there then transfer to the external one.0 -
In the end, I expect poor old God would get it in the neck, as usual, as He made the wind.....I mean you couldn't possibly predict that giving 15 properties large, light plastic items to place in an exposed position would cause any kind of issue, could you?0

You just need to empty the small indoor caddy more frequently. Daily if necessary."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

I am talking about small caddy inside.
I have the bin and recycling bin in a hidden cupboard/larder, and there is no space for one more caddy there anyway. It pongs, as it does not fill up like the others.. My bin bag goes out about every 2 days, I use the slightly small bags but it is full. The recycling doesnt pong so can go out whenever full.
Given I have to buy recycle green mini bags myself, I am not going out every day or two with a bag that is a fraction full and then swill out the orange leak it left in my sink. If the bags did not leak I might be a bit more interested.
I am all for being good citizen, but if something doesnt suit me, it is my world I live in and I just say no to things like that.0 -

A game of darts down the pub, a few pints, and I'll go home when & how I like. They can keep their blue flashing lights and their ever-so-polite "would you mind blowing into this widget sir". It's my world and I just say no too.0
