I opened a Clydesdale account on the deadline day (30/11/2015) with a switch later in December. I received the incentive payment today (09/02)!

I opened mine the same day and switched immediately but still waiting.
  • Well well well, transferred switch date was on Dec 9th, still havent received the bonus payment so called up today to query it and was told I wasn't eligibke as had missed the payment in Jan. I made the first payment within 31 days of the switch completing and the second payment within the next 31 days after the switch, this is how it was explained to me on the phone. I have raised a complaint, lets see what comes of this. Will be extremely annoyed if they penalise me for being misinformed by them.!

They seem to be have mis-informed a lot of people. I wouldn't advise people to open an account with them.
  • I agree. I think their staff are totally confused aswell considering the amount of times they've changed their terms over the past year. I think they're deliberately wording their terms to trip customers up. Unclear and open to interpretation.

I switched mine on the same date, sent them a secure message and they've come back saying final checks due on 11/2/16 and if eligible I should get the incentive after that. We'll see.

If anyone is screwed out of the incentive, would it be possible to switch the Yorkshire account (using it as the donor) over to Clydesdale and try and get the £150 that way?

No-one will be "screwed" out of the incentive payment. If you've met the T&Cs they'll pay...either before a complaint, or after a complaint/complaint escalated to the FOS. If you've "screwed" yourself, by not complying for whatever reason, then that's a different matter! ;)

    In a word, no.

Relative and I both switched (to YB) and received the incentive about eight weeks after the switch.

We intend to keep our accounts for the in credit interest and are considering their credit card offering.

Just out of interest, there's nothing in their T&C's that says you can't switch a YB account to a CB account?

I would have thought it similar to say if you had a HSBC account and switched it to M&S bank to receive their bonus - i.e they are part of the same group/company and even stipulate you can do this.

The first sentence makes it clear you need to have an account with another bank or building society.

These T&Cs need to be read in conjunction with the Clydesdale personal banking T&Cs, which used to say (not sure if they still do?) something along the lines of "us means Clydesdale Bank and Clydesdale Bank trading as Yorkshire Bank", as we found out a little over a year ago when they launched the first incarnation of the current offer. So at the end of the day I don't think they'd use the CASS to switch you over (if they agreed to do it at all).
