Anyone received £150 from Clydesdale?

Just thought I'd flag this in case its useful to anyone.
I opened my clydesdale account a couple of weeks ago and started the switch process - all good.
However today I did my first transfer in from my main current account to meet the min pay in requirement - £1000. All fine.
However, trying to immediately send that money back to my main account caused an issue. There is a £300 transfer limit by default, so I couldn't send that £1000 back in one block. The first two £300's went through fine but on the third transaction I triggered the security system and had to call up to get the payment released.
I understand why the system is in place so not moaning about it, but something to be aware of if you're operating the account just for the switching bonus.
I have now ordered a security token (no cost), which ups the transaction limits. I'd suggest to people immediately ordering this as soon as you open the account to get rid of the low thresholds as soon as possible.0 -
Yeh I got caught with that too lol had to order a token and then wait for it to arrive by post.. But annoying but it doesn't seem to consistent.. I needed to use it first time I did that and a few others but some of them I didn't. And I the conditions that it used the token in and it still was very inconsistent lol0

Pretty much CONNED into moving my account to Clydesdale.
After 3 months of chasing them, and being told the £150 would be in my account in 90 days (they even checked every time I called them that I'd met the eligibility criteria) - they are today refusing to pay.
Why?
Because I phoned SKY and Vodafone to tell them I was switching, and they changed my Direct Debits. Apparently I'm not supposed to do this.
I thought that you had always to tell Direct Debit companies when you move account, IN ADDITION to your bank doing it? Same as with Cancelling a Direct Debit, no?
I honestly was acting in good faith.
And nowhere in Clydesdale's literature does it say I'm not allowed to tell Sky and Vodafone I'm switching bank.
I'm not really from a Banking background - I'm just your normal "man on the street" - so I don't know much a how Direct Debit Mandates and Account Switching works.
So that's it - they're refusing to pay.
Made a complaint - they said they cannot uphold it because it's "not a bank error".0 -
I think i might lose out on my £150 switching incentive.
The switch went through on the 2nd of February but one of the direct debits that I set up to fund a post office savings account has not been taken, it was due on the 28th.
The direct debit is showing as active with clysdale but I have had no reply from the post office savings as to why the direct debit has not been collected.0
