  • Good morning another gorgeous day!
I'm organising an event in aid of Cancer research as part of their Britain's Biggest Breakfast and to raise money I am going to hold a raffle. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with big companies donating prizes? I've had a look at the charities board and took some advice from there and I've contacted Aintree Race Course to see if they would donate some tickets.
Any advice would be gratefully received as it's the first time I've ever done anything like this.
It's being held at a local restaurant so all food and beverage prep has been taken care of its just ways of raising extra cash I'm looking for. They have kindly offered to donate a percentage of the mornings takings.
It's quite exciting now I've written it down. It's 11th March so time wise I haven't got very long.

try local restaurants, hairdressers, beauty !!!!!!s etc they may give you a voucher, they consider it as advertising and if a restaurant gives a £10 voucher ( for example) it only actually costs them a few pounds (food costs) and they hope the winner will spend more than the voucher value.

supermarkets also have a budget for community involvement take your letter to your local store and ask for the 'community champion' rather than contacting head office

    a question.

has anyone had any dealings with 2 companies called vidbliss and lilplay?

    yes I've googled

No its not me. Its my youngest again - he is 24 for goodness sake and still they go making stupid mistakes

Yes I have sent a message to his bank or at least about one of them. The other I've just realised is doing the same so I need to get permission before I contact the bank again

Thank you I will. The girl that owns the beauty place we go to has already offered 2x£10 vouchers.
I will ask a couple of local restaurants thats a good idea. I hate asking people for things but it's for Cancer research not me personally I have to remind myself of that.

Snap-ant it is scary having done it myself but at least you and your mum will have each other for support. Make sure you both occasionally take a little time out.

I hope the move home goes well for your dear dad. :A
