Stuck in a lift?

Okay, first of all I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section or even forum (its the only forum I'm on so) but I need some advice.
I've been travelling around this week and got to a new hotel yesterday. After being here just over 10 minutes I got stuck in their small lift for over 20 minutes. I can't be sure of the time as I had no phone or watch with me.
I don't want to come off dramatic but it literally was one of the worst experiences of my life. It was so hot and stuffy, the lights were going on and off, the lift was shaking at times and they even had to do the fire alarm at one point. As I was stuck between two floors, when they finally opened the doors they had to pull me out of a small gap. It was absolutely horrible.
When I got out one of the staff gave me a glass of water and that was it. I was offered a drink by the nice mechanic but the actual staff that deal with customers gave no care.
I'm not asking for an apology bottle of their best champagne but a glass of water?? Not even anyone asking if I'm okay or a follow up or to sign the accident book or anything?
I don't know if I'm expecting too much but I just dont feel it's right to be so minor for them? I was in shock for my whole first day (side note, I have panic problems and was even on medication previously for it) and I don't want to sound like a diva going crazy but surely this isn't right?
Thanks in advance.

What do you want them to do? These things happen, not nice but certainly not the end of the world.0

Hi,
use the stairs from now on, free exercise.0 -
I'm afraid you are sounding like a diva. As tomtontom says, what is it that you want? Have you asked the hotel if they will do what you want? If not how do you expect them to respond?0

Come on and ride the compo, compo, compo train chooo choooo........
I suggest at least £1million as a starting point0 -
While it's not a particularly nice experience !!!! happens, you got a glass of water from a member of staff just not the staff member you obviously think you should of had it from....Move on and enjoy your trip.0

As I said above, I just thought it didn't seem right to be so casual after being pulled up through a gap and have it be forgotton about so quickly. I didn't want to later be told I should have had to do something.
But at least I know now.0 -
It's called life. !!!! happens.
You got stuck, they got a bloke out PDQ, you were 'rescued'.
No children or animals were harmed during the event.
I'd just use it as a story to tell for the rest of my life.0 -

Unless a Google search shows there is an ongoing problem with the lift, I'd just take some time to gather yourself together.0

What would you of had to do? ...It was an incident that on the face of it was beyond their control, they got you out quickly, gave you a glass of water and sent!you on your way....Have a laugh about it and enjoy your trip.0
