Thanks for your encouragement Sue & Penny: I will text her today and ask in advance. The blackberries are ready early this year so not sure on apples.
Dinner at besties was great; his gf made this lamb & couscous which was delicious and this fruit salad which looked like a sludgy mess (and his gf was mortified!) but tasted superb:

On the surveys front when you sign up to the sites they ask lots of questions, and I know for a few surveys they will ask a few questions before the survey and screen you out if you aren't the right demographic for them but it doesn't happen too much
Cat food ran out yesterday so had to get 2 bags for £8 (): will have a look online today to try and find their recommended kitten food but at a better price and get it ordered so as not to pay extortionate prices.
Quiet weekend was planned and off to gf parents tonight for kheema curry (her dads really looking forward to it!) however our quiet Sunday may not go to plan as it is Raksha Bandhan on Monday, where Hindus give a embroidered bracelet to their brothers/sisters/cousins. it's escalated from going over to see local cousins to us all going out for food. It should be lovely but it's definitely not in the budget so will have to squeeze somewhere else.First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
I text the lady (Elaine) and she wasn't offended at all but has moved to Cornwall so not able to share her apples this year. She did thank me for the delicious chutney last year
Glad I asked, will have to find another apple source for exchange
Been looking at some different and frugal recipes to try in the next fortnight and gf and I have settled on making these two dishes: can cook the chicken all in one day for the soup and then either freeze the shredded chicken or use it the next day in the other dish
Mexican chicken tortilla soup (tried in Mexico and loved it!)

Really looking forward to tying these and they use ingredients we both love and have in the house regularly.
I need to sort out saving recipes somewhere sensible so I don't lose the various links etc....may get a little binder for them or something...will ponder on how to do it cheaply!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

See if you can rob a binder and some polly pockets from work and then print the recipes off at work too - It's free :rotfl:Starting Balance August 2016: £170,199.00 | Remortgaged August 2018: £212,000.00

That's a good idea Michael; work often clear out old stationary so will keep an eye out.
Lady has been to collect the IKEA valet stand and paid the £12. Hurrah! One more bit of junk gone and some pennies for the mortgage.
Gym has been done today and off to gf's parents for kheema curry tonight which I'm looking forward to. Kittens have been out in the rain today and loved it, they were so cute scampering about in the long grass. I had intended to borrow neighbours lawn mower to cut the grass but the heavens opened!)First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Such a shame she moved, but at least you know! Keep your eyes open when you are driving around, we tend to have people leaving produce at the bottom of their drives with notices up of price/ free.
Great idea to keep recipes, especially if you tend to have the ingredients available - super suggestion to use work to assist with that. I hope you have a great time with family tonight!

Sorry to hear your family have experienced a burglary

Great to hear you have so much listed on bay-e. I really need to list somethings today, I have a fair few wooden stamps which are in need of a new loving home0 -
Re: the food sharing I became aware of an app recently called Olio. I've just downloaded it now so not completely sure how effective it is but hopefully it will work.
Sorry to hear about relatives burglary.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Happy Sunday Kittenkirst
So sorry to hear that your relatives were burgled last night. Hope there isn't too much damage to fix and that the property that was stolen wasn't of any sentimental value and can be replaced.
We had a bit of a fright ourselves in the early hours of Saturday morning when Oscar suddenly starting going crazy at 3:30am. We both shot out of bed and crept downstairs for a look around but couldn't see any sign of anyone and cars were both fine so don't know what upset him... maybe he was just having a bad dream
Unfortunately our lovely village is very much a target for burglars and car thieves at the moment so going to have a think about installing cctv, In the short term though we are going to get an electrician we know to install a security light on the front of the house.
Well done on the eBay sales. Might have a hunt around the house and see if I can find anything eBay worthy. We've still got stuff that hasn't been unpacked so I will try and persuade Drew that if we haven't needed something for a year then we don't need it :rotfl:
Hope your back is feeling better soon!Starting Balance August 2016: £170,199.00 | Remortgaged August 2018: £212,000.00
